Pacific Upends No. 20 Cal Poly, 3-1 Tigers Roar Back For Victory After Dropping Game One, 30-14. Sept. 29, 2007 Box Score Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's volleyball team earned their first victory over a ranked opponent under head coach Charlie Wade as the Tigers defeated No. 20 Cal Poly, 3-1, on Saturday, Sept. 29. The Tigers last victory over a ranked opponent came on Oct. 1, 2004 when Pacific defeated No. 8 UC Santa Barbara, 3-1, in Santa Barbara, Calif. With the win the Tigers moved to 9-3 on the season and 3-1 in the Big West Conference. Cal Poly, meanwhile, fell to 9-7 overall and 3-1 in conference play. Game scores for the match were: 14-30, 38-36, 30-27 and 30-26. The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 5 as Pacific travels to Irvine, Calif. to take on the UC Irvine Anteaters.

Wow that's awesome. Wade is doing a great job! Wade is one of the few coaches I would give the green light to replace Shoji after he retires ... but deng, he's making a name of himself at Pacific.
Btw, this isn't supposed to be a knock ... but UCSB at #8??? That was only three years ago. Who on the Gaucho roster was on that team?

I really don't get Cal Poly, I'm happy that Charlie and Tigers came out victorious, but Cal Poly has been really unsteady this year. Good win for Pacific!!!
