Long time reader, first time poster... I was talking to my buddy and it appears that IPFW has indeed started searching for a new setter. He said that they have begun talking to Ryan Meek, one of his teammates on Moorpark College's junior college men's team. Ryan had to redshirt this year but he played last season at Quincy University. He's about 6'2" and touches around 10'8". Good hands, great location, little on the small side but should be ok. IPFW is trying to steal him away from UCSB as I guess UCSB has him penciled in to compete for their starting setter job also. Discuss.

If I were him and was as good as you say, I would go to UCSB. They had problems with their setting this year. On top of that he would play against the best competition that American college volleyball has to offer. He also has Patak and Wiens. On top of all these things is that he would get to live in Santa Barbara!!!

On the discuss portion...
You might want to check in with the St Frances freshman setter. I had heard he was thinking of transfering closer to home. (chicago)
taller, great hands, big blocker,

Yes, the freshman St. Francis setter Wiegers from Adversity did leave.
He averaged 10.5 assists/game, had 87 kills and 49 blocks on a team that just couldn't hit and had a ton of injuries and starters not playing due to disciplinary problems.
He lost a bunch of weight since high school and grew an inch. He is probably close to 6'6" now
