I love the gopher colors but who dressed the football team yesterday ? They looked like big bottles of mustard. ![](http://www.nmnathletics.com.edgesuite.net/pics19/400/PY/PYFEJEANKHUUPQG.20070930040715.jpg)

TOugh losses in those first two games for Michigan had to be disheartening. Good for Minnesota to stick with it.

Until Michigan starts to block effectively, they can forget playing and winning against the better teams in the Big Ten. Four team blocks(and two total blocks by their middles) in 3 games isn't going to get it done.....

Jones left the match early in game two with what looked like an ankle sprain. She was on the ground for a while and then helped off the court where she stayed for a bit before going to the lockerroom. She did return after the intermission with a boot on her leg.
Dieter was pretty ineffective from the outside... some hard shots, but Michigan was digging everything she had. She pretty much only hit cross, so she could have been better served by mixing it up some more. She did contribute defensively and through serving as well.
Roerhig had a nice match and Gibbemeyer really carried the team after Jones went out. It felt like Minnesota had 30 blocks in the match - many of the solo varieties.
Zimmerman was good for Michigan as was Katie B. #11 Rood struggled against the big block from Minnesota.
I thought Hartmann got away with murder on some of her sets... there were a few called, but probably 5-7 more that could have been.

Sorry to hear Jones went down. I hope it's nothing serious. She's a great player.
