She had 3 blocking errors, not BHE.

I see that Christine Tan won Big Ten co-defensive player of the week honors. Well done, Christine, I say. She looked shaky against Ohio and Stanford--didn't seem to be able to handle the tough jump servers. But she looked great against Michigan--the best I've seen her play. Her serving was also great. She consistently floated the ball just over the net, just be a smidgeon. Jesse (until injured), Kyla, and Christine had great matches. Schmidt did well, too, in her Ruby Keeler role. Rachelle remains a mystery: she can really bang it and I thought she had a good match. . . until I saw the stats showing a zero hitting percentage. Lots of potential, there--but no breakthrough yet.

Tan's really been playing great since she was moved to middle back.
Hagerty has to quit launching the scuds into the 5th row. Until she stops making so many errors, she's going to be one really bad game away from being replaced by K-vodt.
Sure would be nice if one of them seized the position by its scawny little neck and made it cluck for mercy.

Something I think frustrated the coaches on Sunday (and this is just a guess) with Hagerty when she didn't hit the ball and went with a tip. With the power she generates I think they would rather have her try and pound the ball vs. dinking. There were a couple of times on Sunday where I thought she was going to hurt a MI defender with her spikes. And a couple of times I thought she was going to hurt a spectator. I liked Rachelle's demeanor Sunday in that she seemed, for the most part, agressive. Now if she can maintain that agressiveness and keep the ball in play we really have something.
An interesting match, stat-wise. MI had more kills (47-40), more aces (4-3), fewer service errors (9-10), more digs (67-59), and fewer blocking errors (0-4). And lost the match. 18 blocks to 4 and 15 unforced hitting errors will do that.

Ruffda asked "what are old man shirts" I guess you missed that as well. No, saw that. Just didn't know what they meant by the "old man" shirts. Ah, my mind remains mush. ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png)

"Old man shirts" are the kind of shirts that you don't tuck in and aree straight across the bottom. They look like bowling shirts from the 50's.

I think if you went out on a fri/sat and saw males from the ages 25-50 you would see that same look on 60% of every guy. Old is the new, new.
