I play for Central Cal 18's Gold, along with Aaron Harrell and Jon Steller(both UC Irvine) and so I was curious what you guys thought about the upcoming tournaments. We have a one dayer this weekend and then the 4 day boys classic. After that it's the big one, Junior Olympics in Texas. What do you think the top seedings will look like and what do you expect from the top seeded teams?

I was going to referr you to the VB Mag board, but I see you're already a regular there.
Haven't followed the Club scene this year much since my son ended his club run last year. But I would hope you're as good as last year's Central Cal 18s if you hope to get past SCVC. Are you? I think it's theirs to lose. Have you played them, and if so how have you done against them?
Good luck.

Hey, we finished the fall club season 3rd in the nation which is good but we did not play at the final points tournament in the fall. We played SCVC every time in the semis and lost but it was always so close. We lost 27-25 one match which sucked but...this year we have some GREAT talent. Besides me we have a GREAT setter, 2 UCI recruits, a Fresno St. 2nd in the nation club future player, some awesome passing...I don't know if I could say we've improved as much as I'd say we've matured. We've finally got GREAT players are every position so this is the first season we won't be weak somewhere.

We are getting back everyone except POggi and Reid Yoshimura but are gaining Brett Hughes, Brett Tillman, and Brett Gillen. Hughes won't play because we got Pat back for the summer. We are going to havea great summer!

You said you had a great setter. Did you guys get someone in from out of town?

No not from out of town. Pat Heyne, he has been on varsity since freshman year...great setter, hitter, all around player. Hit hit oppo when Brett Hughes set today and hits great too. He has awesome ball placement and I've never seen him lose a joust hehe...
