Only two foreign players on the court Lausanne, 22nd October 2007 – The FIVB is considering a proposal to limit to three the number of foreign players with a transfer certificate registered by a Volleyball Club and only two of them could be on the court playing at the same time. The rule will apply to all Clubs involved in National, Continental and/or World Competitions. This proposal has been made after numerous complaints from National Federations who find difficult to have enough experienced players for their National teams and its purpose is to support and facilitate the access of native young players to top Volleyball competitions and their participation in National and International Volleyball Clubs competitions and consequently to benefit their National teams. The measure goes in the same direction of the new treaty signed in Portugal by the member countries of the European Union.
