When things go wrong they just go wrong. UCI had 55 service and hitting errors and loose in 4. 30-23, 28-30, 29-31, 30-32.
Oh well!!

55 service errors? Is that a typo? Did UCI really not come to play or is Northridege that good?

"55 combined service and hitting errors" was the statement i think.
every great team falls once. (or in men's volleyball ... 5 or 6 times?)

This was a great game, well worth hanging out in the Valley to watch. Both teams played hard. Scores stayed close for most of the four games (except the first one where things were tied up until the early 20s and then UCI just pulled ahead for their only win).
Missed serves really cost UCI. They'd get momentum on a great play, then lose it by serving long or into the net.
Ty Tramblie - CSUN setter - is a dynamite little fella. He jousted taller players and own, had a solo block and helped on a couple more. He plays with a lot of enthusiasm and bounce. At times he seems made of rubber as he skids and twists to set a ball.
After watching some of the uppity coaches on the women's side, it was nice to see two coaches with some class.
Haven't seen either team play this year, so no idea if one was just more ready than the other. Two players from last year's team never got court time, one is Jensen who came in with energy last year as I remember.
Marv Dunphy in the house, as was Brad Keenan - both of Pepp. Lots of student and community support including five young men with no shirts and letters painted on their chests spelling R-I-D-G-E.
Vball818 - were you there?

Tough loss for UCI but remember it is early in the season and the number 1 spot will exchange hands several times. Speraw and UCI will continue to make an impact this year. The rest of the season should be very exciting. Who will end up in the Finals? We'll just have to wait and see...... GO EATERS!!!!

Hawaii back to #1, UCI will drop two to three spots! I think that Pepperdine will move ahead of Hawaii to the #1 spot.

Pepperdine won't move ahead of Hawaii or BYU because either team hasn't lost and Hawaii just swept Long Beach and it took Pepperdine 5 to win.

not particularly suprised to hear about the serving errors. That's been a huge problem in previous years as well, and I was pretty doubtful that it had disappeared over night.
22 serving errors. that's en entire game right there. how does one person get 6 service errors? It'd be one thing if they were getting a lot of aces with them, but they only had 5 total. bah.

BYU will trash Hawaii in Provo. Mark my words. Tom Peterson is doing some amazing things with this team and they coming together rather nicely.
CAN'T WAIT!!!!
