Last year about this time, I went on record to say that Pepperdine and Hawaii would represent the MPSF at the NCAA Final Four. People agreed that Pepperdine was a shoo in, but come on...Hawaii? They were not winning at the time, and the majority opinion was that "VBCrusin lost his marbles!" Hawaii? Not this year. My predictions were pretty accurate all season, up until the Final match (Pep vs UH) when Hawaii proved everyone wrong (including me). I've learned never to count Hawaii out. This year, UCI and Hawaii are battling for the number 1 spot in the rankings, and it seemed that UCI would be going to the "NCAA Show" along with Hawaii. I've only missed one prediction this year (recent Stanford win vs at Hawaii).Sorry Anteaters but here is my prediction: Even though UCI and BYU might have a shot at it, they will come up short. Barring any injuries, Pepperdine and Hawaii will represent the MPSF at the NCAA Finals once again. Anybody want to place some bets?

I'll bet my Hawaiian Shirt for your Hawaiian Shirt. My wife was impressed with your Aloha Attire tonite. I had to work tonite so I missed the action. However, this was the first time I heard a Radio Broadcast of the Game on internet - impressive/well done. Kudos to the Beach "Greek" Fans, my wife said they were very entertaining. Great School Spirit - after the game some of the Warriors were taking pictures with the Beach fans. Hawaii needs a student section like the Beach. WHOS NEXT. Bookumdanoaloha.

For what it's worth - yeah, I know, not much - the UCI team I saw tonight would be no match for the UH team I saw play last year. And UH returned nearly everyone. One thing that makes me question UCI's staying power is that I didn't see anyone step up tonight to take leadership of the team. Maybe I was just tired, but I didn't see anybody from the Anteaters come down with a fist pumping/red-faced VanReusen scream to get the team pumped.
Would love to see another Pepp/UH match up.

When UCI played Pepperdine , I thought the difference was Jensen with his serving and all around hustle and fire and now I don't see him in the line - up at all . Did someone step up and beat him out ( Bemus ? ) ? Don't go counting any apples yet Cruisin ( I like your prediction ) but there is a lot of volleyball left to be played. I do see Pepperdine getting better every game and Hein was impressive at middle, aand will get better and more confident each week. See you at the games! HAVEN'T SEEN YOU AROUND YET MOM !!!! Are you coming to a game soon ?

I give a lot of credit to Mike Wilton. As much crap as we have heard he has given his players (and personally I don't like him very much for it) he has really made the Warriors match tough come cunch time.
I think of the men's team as the antithesis of the women's team. They seem to falter a lot in the regular season but really bring it when it counts.

Last night at CSUN/UCI was the first game I've seen in ages b/c I was moved into my former boss' spot at my college (interim basis) and am now working full-time with a one-hour commute each way. Started in January. It's a good opportunity, but the drive and hours are killer. Saw your boy last night & asked him to pass on that message to you all (in shortened form). I'm hoping to get to the Pepp game tonight.
