Bush booed, Clinton cheered

Quite a contrast to how they were received on their Italian visit.

For Bill Clinton:

As Mr. Clinton went for a walk, ...shoppers, tourists having lunch at outdoor cafes and Italian business people going to meetings all stopped to greet him.

Along the streets, people starting yelling "Bill, Bill, Bill," and a few shouted "U.S.A.!" One shopkeeper raced out with a photograph of Mr. Clinton on a past visit.

"You go around the world and you see a lot of affection for Americans," he said.


Contrast this to how Bush was received:

When Bush's face appeared on giant screen TVs showing the ceremony, many in the crowds outside St. Peter's Square booed and whistled.

The Europeans appreciate heathen behavior, hence the cheers for "loose zipper" Clinton. Having said that, I have to admit that I like good old Bill Clinton. ;D

The same thing can be said about Clinton. Sudan offered to give bin Laden to Saudi Arabia, which would have meant his demise. But Clinton didn't push the Saudis to accept, so bin Laden escaped to Afghanistan. Evidently Clinton didn't think Bin Laden was a threat untill after the fact.

Methinks the international laws were passed with the approval of the US.

GWB and the "conservatives" in congress simply ignore laws that they can't find a way to use to their own advantage.
