A little snippet of what he said:
"Carter gave the night's toughest speech, lashing out at the Bush administration for violating the world's trust. "Our credibility has been shattered and we are left increasingly isolated and vulnerable in a hostile world," Carter said. "Recent policies have cost our nation its reputation as the world's most admired champion of freedom and justice. What a difference these few months of extremism have made."
Man, that guy needs to look at his own presidency before he starts criticizing the current one. Let's see:
-Iran hostage crisis in which 52 Americans were held captive for 444 days
-Failed rescue attempt resulting in the loss of 3 out of 8 American helicopters and the lives of 8 American servicemen
-Double-digit inflation and unemployement
-Mortgages that hovered somewhere between 18 and 20 percent interest
Kinda sad that Carter felt the need to say these things at the DNC. I actually like him and think he's a good person.

Now you're getting me steamed. Carter is da Man.
The economy was in a shambles with Ford and made worse by the embargo. This was not Carter's fault.
The helicopter crash was his fault? Does that mean Reagan is responsible for Lebanon? Bush for 9/11?
The Iranians purposely held the hostages until Reagan came into office. Again, this was not Carter's doing.
How you can defend W and RR and bash Carter is beyond me.
This is your problem BiK. You think W has "balls." And what you believe proves he does is ridiculous. If he had "balls", he'd have served in Viet Nam. He'd admit his mistakes.

And this:
"Our credibility has been shattered and we are left increasingly isolated and vulnerable in a hostile world," Carter said. "Recent policies have cost our nation its reputation as the world's most admired champion of freedom and justice. What a difference these few months of extremism have made."
is RIGHT ON THE MARK.

That's a load of crap. America is only admired as a Champion of freedom and justice when it's doing Europe's bidding. Isn't freedom and justice the reason why some in the middle east slapped the "Great Satan" tag on the US to begin with? Oui? Speaking of Carter, it took him nearly a year to dispatch Delta Force to Iran in Operation Eagle Claw. He's more worn than a pair of Grandma panties!

How you can defend W and RR and bash Carter is beyond me. That's an understatement. I'm sure most political discussions are beyond you. ;D

The helicopter crash was his fault? Does that mean Reagan is responsible for Lebanon? Bush for 9/11? Well, according to the reasoning that you and Gork use all the time to blame everything that is supposedly wrong today on Bush #43, yes. Happened on his watch. The order to initiate the rescue mission came by Executive Order. Not even the Chairman of the JCS or the Secretary of Defense can order something like that. As an aside, if that same mission were undertaken today, it would have probably been successful. With modern-day battlefied intelligence and technology, along with better training in insertion/rescue/egress scenarios, it would come off much better than it did in 1980.

Well, according to the reasoning that you and Gork use all the time to blame everything that is supposedly wrong today on Bush #43, yes. Nope. Never said that. I blame SPECIFIC things. Things he IS responsible for. But W never takes responsibility for anything that goes wrong. It's always someone else's fault. Or he never knew about it.
