'Michael Moore is a Desperado,' More Democratic Songs
Concertgoers at Linda Rondstadt’s Las Vegas show were wrong to storm out of the Aladdin Hotel’s theater and throw their drinks at her poster after she dedicated the Eagle’s song "Desperado” to Michael Moore – because the song’s title suits the bloviating moviemaker perfectly.
He is a desperado in every sense of the word as defined in The American Heritage Dictionary. Desperado: "a desperate, dangerous criminal, especially of the western frontier.” Today the uncivilized frontier is Hollywood.
The lyrics about a lonely, outcast cowboy who builds fences, shoots first and asks questions later describe Moore better than a wanted poster – although it’s hard to imagine the hefty propagandist getting up on horse without someone notifying PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
Check out this verse from the "Desperado” song, which sounds like it was written for Moore as a warning to stop his divisive and self-destructive film antics:
"Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow.”<br>
As it turns out, Eagles songs also describe other high-profile Democrats. Check out these titles and the people or groups they could have been written for:
I Can’t Tell You Why – John Kerry
New Kid In Town – John Edwards
Witchy Woman – Theresa Heinz, Hillary Clinton, Barbra Streisand
Life In The Fast Lane – Bill Clinton
Take It To The Limit – Liberal Justices
After The Thrill Is Gone – Jesse Jackson
Get Over It – The 2000 election
Hotel California – Moveon.org
The King of Hollywood – John Kerry
Victim of Love – Bill Clinton
Try And Love Again – Hillary Clinton
Hollywood Waltz – Whoopi Goldberg, Chevy Chase, John Mellancamp
Already Gone – Al Sharpton, Gen. Wesley Clark and Howard Dean
Most Of Us Are Sad – The Democratic Party
Certain Kind Of Fool – Al Gore
Outlaw Man – Sandy Berger
Pretty Maids All In A Row – Bill Clinton
Lyin’ Eyes – Michael Moore
The Last Resort – Voting For Democrats
Heartache Tonight – The DNC on Election night
