GWB says they're going to tear down Abu Ghraib.
General Miller says they're turning it over to the Iraqi's.
Isn't it nice to know that they're successfully working on the "communications failures" that they keep using as an excuse for the various problems this administration runs into that they claim "aren't their fault"?
Perhaps their plan is to tear it down then hand it over.

Are you getting enough fiber in your diet lately?

Fiber is overrated.

I knew all of those fortune cookies you've received over the years with blank fortunes would have a more than subtle impact on your persona!

That would be more poor PR.....camera equipment can be expensive to replace. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) )

My question is what did they do with the prisoners? Were they released or relocated. I would think that many of them are Fedayeen who would return to killing American troops.

The reports I saw said they were releasing many of them to get down ot a 1500 prisoner count, and others would be relotated to other prisons in Iraq.
I'd also read reports that as much as 70% of the prisoners at Abu Ghraib (largely those not in the cell blocks being reported as where the abuses had taken place) were being detained without reason. Some were picked up in large scale raids, determined to have not known significant information and left in the prison while the military focused on those they thought could be used to gain information.

I hope you are right. Releasing enemy combatants in an attempt to improve public opinion would be a major mistake. The stupidity of a few does not merit the release of Fedayeen who will go back to fighting against American troops.

Thanks for the article. That actually makes me feel better about the release. But then again, can I really trust the NY Times? ;D

You can probably trust them at least as much as you can trust the spin doctors working for GWB's adminisration.
