I have to agree, although PSU lost Mattei they return all or most of their starters. They should dominate the EIVA without a problem although it will be interesting how they cope with Mattei's departure, he not only was their main passer but also the leader in the court that kept the whole team in place.
Rutgers should come in second place as they also have 5 returning starters. They would have given PSU a run for the money but they don't have a solid setter. They have a big Canadian setter 6'9" who is extremely slow and weak on his setting skills if the pass is not perfect. The back up who has better speed and setting skills is 6'0" and teams will be hitting over him all day long.
Springfield should be third but could surprise Rutgers as they already had a 5 setter in the pre-season with very balanced sets. They return 5 starters and the libero from last year, they only lost their right side but have a freshman from the Puerto Rico Junior National team that will be an impact player in the EIVA immediately.
Mason is a question mark as they had a lot of injusries last year and from what I hear Campos, their offensive leader last year, also had a serious injury to his ankle in the summer. If they are healthy they should be as good as Rutgers and Springfield.
Juniata lost 3 of their top players this year, although they always have good teams I think this year is their rebuilding year and should finish below Rutgers, Springfield and Mason. Still should be agreat match for the D3 crown between Juniata and Springfield, they always play great against one another.

Is New Jersy Tech part of this conference? I wonder if Ryan McNeil will be able to get a team going well enough to really bring some conpetition to that league?

NJIT IS A BAD BAD TEAM WITH LITTLE TO NO TALENT. This is more than pulling a rabbit out of a hat, but you know maybe Carthage will win the MIVA too? ?

NJIT will be better than last year. They have a solid 6-5 OH from Mass who was one of the top hitters in the State. They still won't be contenders, but I would assume with McNeils recruiting that in about 2-3 years this team won't be the doormat anymore.

Outside of Rutgers and PSU the whole scene out east is a joke. 2-3 years of good recruiting and they will still be the worst team west of Ohio!!!!!!!

The reason why the teams arent as dominate on the East coast is because there are so many of them. The more teams you have the less super stars on each team. Out west the teams are so few that they have a lot more superstars on their teams.
