The varioius shows and discussions over the past few days regarding the opening of the new World War II memorial have brought back some old memories of discussions with my father about the things he went though and observed in that war. My father's ship was sunk by a Kamikaze.
I don't think he ever got over that (he died in 1986 of lung cancer).

I don't know anyone who was in ANY war. Too young. I confess that I don't like to think about Memorial Day much. It's depressing to think boobhead leaders would send ANYONE to kill (and be killed).

i actually got to go to the memorial this past May about a week or so after it was open and let me tell you its so beautiful and full of sayings that really make you think of what had happened back during the War. And the wall with all the stars on it really puts things into perspective.
