Reality: The economy is recovering and growing.
Short term growth after long term collapse.
Time will tell if it continues.
Many indicators show signs of another recession coming - the same indicators that were present in the past 3-4 recessions.
Reality: We were attacked on 9/11/01 and have not
been hit again on U.S. soil since.
This means absolutely nothing.
How many times were we attacked on American soil before 9/11 and before GWB took office?
If you want him to take the credit for non-attacks since 9/11 he needs to take blame for the 9/11 attack as well.
Reality: Saddam is gone.
Reality: Control of the government in Iraq will be handed over on June 30, 2004.
Many have pointed out that Saddam wasn't a credible threat to the US before we invaded Iraq so his being gone isn't necessarily a huge issue.
He was an ongoing threat to his own people and in that respect it is good that he is gone. Though how many Iraqis have died since we invaded and how many more will die because of the increase in insurgents and terrorist factions being present now in Iraq that may well not have died if we hadn't invaded?
It is yet to be seen whether there will be a sucessful handoff on June 30th. The current amount of progress and the UN's lack of support for the proposals by the US and UK don't make it look overly promising.
Plus, even if a successful handoff is made on June 30th it is still only to an interim govermental structure that will have a rough time surviing for the following several months until early 2005 when there is supposed to be a permanent govermental structure put into place in Iraq.
Reality: The U.S. will succeed in Iraq without the real support of the Democratic party.
As well as seemingly without the support of a fair number of republican party members as well is the news of the bickering on their part about GWB's handling of Iraq continues to get worse.
Reality: GW will not hand over U.S. sovereignty to an international governing body, like Kerry wants.
GWB keeps changing his mind on what he will hand off the the interim goverment in terms of what levels of authority it will be granted so your claim here means abolutely nothing at this point.
Reality: GW's approval number of late suck, because of Abu Ghraib. But his Election poll numbers still have him winning in Novemer.
Most of the polls I've seen show GWB well behind Kerry for the election in November.
OTOH: Pretty much none of the polls are statistically sound anyhow.
