I have enlarged this photo 1000% and focused on the reflection in the doorknob. Having done this, I see that you are none other than Carrot Top and you took this photo wearing a dress. I think. It's kinda blurry at 1000%. Well - out of a strange sense of curiosity, I did just that. Here are the results: As you can see, I'm not wearing anything.

Is an "Aloha shirt" the same thing as an "Hawaiian shirt"? Only mainlanders call it a "Hawaiian" shirt. In Hawai'i, it's called aloha shirts because it is considered part of "aloha wear". Where's the best place to buy "Aloha" shirts? People like Hilo Hatties but in Hawai'i it's kind of generic. www.hilohattie.com/The best way to get a good "Aloha Shirt" is by exploring Uncle Keoki's closet.

That's what I ended up getting, only because I found 'em cheap at an off-price store. Is that a Hawaii-Five-O reference?

I guess it's probably better if I don't know exactly what the reference is. I did a web search, and the only one I could find was an "Uncle Keoki" (played by Kwan Hi Lim) from an episode of Hawaii Five-O.

Alright kids, I'm no expert on the subject at hand but in all my years in Hawaii, I can tell you one thing:
There are no rules on how to wear a Hawaiian shirt.
Come on...it's got flowers and stuff on it. How formal can a Hawaiian shirt be? I repeat...it's a Hawaiian shirt!
Well - I usually wear a t-shirt under my polo shirts. Just feels more comfortable for me. Plus - the temps here right now are somewhere in between Minnesota and Hawaii. Oh - here's the pic: Not too tacky is it?
I think it looks fine. As long as it isn't too cheesy. Simple patterns are best.

Manuheali'i makes super nice but super expensive aloha shirts. They're in Kailua. LOL. Buying an Aloha Shirt in Kailua is like calling Germaine's or Paradise Cove an "authentic" luau. Go to Wal-Mart, or Daiei, or (if you wanna get upscale) Sears. Some of the local surf shops carry some nice styles if you're looking for what the younger kids like. Of course, there's always Kramer's or if you want the Hawaiian-yuppie-I-work-in-downtown look, you could go with a reverse-print job from Tori Richards/Cooke Street. Total townie look there, though. BiK probably likes that.
