Some people, and I know one in particular, won't get your "Winesburg, Ohio" reference. Does it ever get old, answering your own posts?

SlopBoob, I am not Roger Lacocco. If I were Roger, I probably would've banned your arse for all your trollish postings. And yet, you are still here. Imagine. Blah...blah...blah.... Babble....babble.....babble..... Nice try, Wolfcheese. But for those of us who have seen you operate from clear back to the Volleyball 24/7 days know you are quite good at creating elaborate fabricated stories to cover your tracks. The multi-part "End of Rollshot" story is a good example. All that bandwidth wasted with a babbling, high-drama story. Why didn't you just come clean and tell everyone that you could no longer keep up with the workload? Only thing you've proven through the years is that you are one heck of a pathological liar.

SlopBob, that's the thing with you, you are so off-base on so many things and yet, your conspiracy theories are entertaining. They are the milk to my cookies. Um, whatever. You are, I admit, smarter than idahoboob (but not by much), and that ain't a compliment.
No, moron, I am not chancelucky. This is an old topic. Chancelucky is Boris from the old days, as Tawa mentioned. Odi-n, the great admin, can assure you I am not chancelucky. Although many others have said he=me.
I know who chancelucky is, though, I think. He sent me an email which led to an article. One of the best emails about volleyball I have ever read.
Odi-n? ^M^o^dBot? Klaatu? ( <---- these are staff members of VT) Well, it would be foolish of me to think they will come to my rescue. It would also be foolish to ask chancelucky to come to my rescure, although how would he do that without disclosing certain pertinent info about himself?
If you read the post by chancelucky carefully, he does not write like me.
What a goof.

Why didn't you just come clean and tell everyone that you could no longer keep up with the workload? I did say that. Duh! What is always interesting, slopBum, is that you keep bringing up rolldork, which expired in late 2002. That's almost 2 years ago! Do you have an obsession? It's okay if you do. You, all by your lonesome, keep the rolldork.com name alive. For that, I am humbled.

I can't remember where I read it, but one writer did point out that the problem with books like Babbit and Winesburg (2 of the more famous portraits of early 20th century Ohio) is that they were the most opaque for the very people who they were about. Which I take to mean that, the individuals who formed the basis for Babbit or Winesburg would be the very ones who would try to read it and say "this sentence sucks". So they present a fascinating literary paradox, the people who should know the subject matter best are also the ones who are the least likely to read or understand it. It may explain why Anderson and Lewis aren't read so much anymore. You don't have a lot of people from small town Ohio going "hey dude, read this book, it's me, it's totally me and it liberated me from where I came from" Instead, they get read by people who live in New York City who want to say they know what Ohio is like because they've read these books and think things like "Those pitiful losers, glad people in Manhattan aren't neurotic like that." The argument's also been made that Anderson is better "art" than Lewis because you can tell that Anderson truly loved his characters while Lewis simply seemed to poke fun at their foibles though he did so very deftly. Again, the odd thing is that those Anderson loved wouldn't be able to know that had they themselves read the stories.
If Idaho Boy, Wolfgang, Shepherd, Jewel etc. are just characters in a Pirandelloish search for their own identity beyond the interenet, I'd like to think that they write about one another from some deep-rooted love for their quirks and foibles....Otherwise, the plot of the voleytalk dialogues may turn out to be more Dreiser or O'neill tragic and futile or even Jacqueline Susan ephemeral than say something really darkly whimisical like a Borges labyrinth or good Vonnegut or Heller where consternation stands in for both characterand plot.

Boris, you're not helping.
Tell sloopboob I am not you. All you have to do is mention a name; that you are the father of ____________. That should clear it up.

I actually go back to rec.sport.volleyball, the usenet group that existed before the volleyball magazine bulletin board.
I am the parent of two volleyball players, but otherwise have no actual connection to the sport. One of them was one of the first players interviewed for Rollshot. The younger one sometimes shows up in my postings at prepvolleyball.
I've never met Wofgang/Shepherd/poppyfields, etc. We have exchanged direct e-mail on occasion, I've also chatted directly with Idaho Boy at prepvolleyball.com on their chat software. I thought he seemed quite nice and enjoyed chatting with him, which I suppose is the ultimate proof that I'm not Wolfgang.
I always thought it was far more interesting when everyone was trying to figure out if Jewel was a guy or a girl.

I apologize for being part of the reason this thread continues. Just trying to get Wolffart to drop the drama queen act and take his personal agenda w/Idapoop offline.

I don't want to read the whole thread, would someone mind giving me a brief recap and boxscore?
Is rally scoring being used?
What impact will the actions discussed in this thread have on NCAA tournament selections and seedings?

I apologize for being part of the reason this thread continues. Just trying to get Wolffart to drop the drama queen act and take his personal agenda w/Idapoop offline. Who are you kidding, slopblob? You're the kind of guy who likes to get dirty and roll around in the mud like a pig. You're the kind of guy who likes to sneak a punch in during a bar fight that doesn't even concern you. You were "trying" to get me to take this offline? That was a pathetic attempt. A reasonably good attempt would be to post: "Please take this offline." Instead, you bring up something from, what, 2 years ago? I mean, you are really obsessed with what I did 2 years ago.
