Did you listen to them? Does anyone know if they are streaming any games this year or if they already have? The archives used to be available as well. I haven't seen any links for them on the site. Anyone know?

Conover had pretty good set location. Not very deceptive as most of his hitters had 2 blockers on them. He didn't really stand out but it is really hard to judge him. Northridge had major passing trouble in both nights. On Wednesday, Hawaii was serving tough and Northridge looked really out of system. They were working with a new line up due to injuries. On Friday, Hawaii was picking on Hanson and they were also without their starting libero. Conover did a pretty good job of getting the ball to his hitters. But the hitters didn't do a very good job of putting the ball down. You could see there were injuries and some of the younger players were a bit tentative to be the "go to" guy. As I said before, once Northridge is healthy, they can be dangerous.

I've known Jeff since his freshman year at University of San Diego High School in San Diego. He doubled as a right side blocker and setter. He played on some very talented teams at Uni when they battled Kimo Tuyay's Francis Parker School squad. Both schools are about two blocks from each other. Uni vs. Parker volleyball rivalary is very much like Punahou vs. Kam/or Iolani. Two of San Diego's Private Schools were Volleyball is considered a Major Sport on Campus.
He got injured late in his senior year, which hurt their chances of beating Tuyay's Parker Team. Kimo's team went on to become the One Number Team in San Diego and Kimo became San Diego Player of the Year.
In comparsion, Kimo was everybodies All CIF/JO All American choice in high school. Jeff was a relatively unknown player in HS and Club Ball.
Not recruited out of high school, Jeff took the JC route where he played at Grossmont College and honed his setting skills. He transfer to Northridge reshirted one year. Last year played behind Ty Tramblie and finally got his chance to start this year.
I'm really proud how Jeff worked and endured all the ups and downs of his volleyball career. It's great to see that he can now call himself a Division One Setter.
He's even been at my home a couple of summers ago, for one of my son's "keg parties". Good Luck Jeff.

Son of BB you don't want to mess with Bookum. I've kepted my posts clean and entertaining, I'd like to keep it that way. I'll leave the Trash Talking to "MY BOY" TIGFAN.
Hey Tigfan, since I won't be going to Stockton any more to watch the Warriors, I've found a couple of Indian Casinos in SoCal in keep me entertained. The Rancheria was an interesting spot. I turned Coach Tino Reyes (Hawaii) to that place last season. This season I'll take Coach Tino to Barona Casino for some golf and 3-5-7 Card Games. I missed Pacific /UCSD match last week in San Diego.
I'll be Crawford Hall for the UCI match this Saturday.

I'll leave the Trash Talking to "MY BOY" TIGFAN. *YAWN* Oh wait, I mean to emote: *TREMBLING IN FEAR* Well actually, I didn't. Why is Tigdork "YOUR BOY"? Is that like Mr. Peabody from the old "Rocky and Bullwinkle" show? With the pet boy Sherman? Loved that cartoon. It always amazes me how you can take a totally unrelated post about something, turn it into a post about you, your boy, or your boy's buddies, and then proceed to name-drop and tell everybody what you did last week. I was sitting on the toilet 2 days ago when Ruben Acosta called. I had to tell him I'd call him back because I was busy at the moment, but then I forgot to call him back. But that's another story....

Hey Son of BB. My post on Jeff Conover was to present a different view of a player (off the court) who I knew personally. One of the posters wanted to know more about Jeff, and I thought providing a more personal insight would be interesting.
Tigfan dropped me a line, and I'm just responding back to him. I find Tigfan to be a "crack up" everytime he makes a post. If you want to get into "name calling" with Tigfan be my guest, but he'll bury you.
I'll continue to make my posts clean and informative as possible.

Already done so numerous times. Come on, the guy roots for UOP! Sheesh.

It's difficult to take your banter seriously when you use words like TURD... c'mon. At least UOP never embarrassed the sport of men's volleyball by openly cheating to win... nuff said... go hawai'i "I eat pieces of s@#$ like you for breakfast... You eat Pieces of S@#$ for breakfast? NO!"

Dang, what happened to the real Tigfan? What have you done with him? Bring back his biting sacrasm and sophomoric frat-boy putdowns!
This new Tigfan-lite is MUY BORING.
