New poll out today! Pep is #1! What does everyone think? Obviously the upcoming games are going to be huge (Hawaii vs BYU) and then Pep traveling to Hawaii (next week)... any comments about Irvine dropping to 3 and BYU remaining at 4? Just wondering what everyone is thinking.

Well it's one unpredictable season! Who knew UCI would be ranked #1 and UCLA have a miserable season. Hawaii splitting with everybody. Pepperdine looks strong. I don't see the rankings staying where they are. No clear dominant team this year.

How is UOP at #8...below two teams that they have beaten head to head. They beat Long Beach last week and Northridge @ Northridge in 3! They have a better record in the MPSF than both these teams on top of beating them both. That's crap...Pacific deserves better.

i think it's also really important to look at how many points each team received. hawaii is only 13 points behind pepperdine. these teams are all very close in the coaches minds.
and since when has the avca poll mattered to those running tournaments? (i'm glad the mpsf tourney is based on won-loss percentage)

Hey 007, Go buy yourself a map and discover these two facts: A. UOP is in STOCKTON, not Sac and B. There is a Sacramento Delta in Stockton, but no Sacramento River. And anyway, he's right. But I am not surprised, the Tigers never get any respect. But soon when they beat all your beloved teams, MAYBE they will. ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png)

They have a better record in the MPSF than both these teams on top of beating them both. That's crap...Pacific deserves better. go tigers Pacific is going to be an interesting team to watch for the rest of the season. Traditionally, they arn't considered a top team, so its possible that the coaches just arn't too sure about them. Their win over Long Beach is probably what moved them into the top 10 but a win over Northridge wasnt too impressive until this past couple of weeks. Northridge isn't usually considered a top team either. But as I mentioned in another post, this is a year that the traditional "weaker" MPSF teams are making strong moves for the top. UCI, Pacific, and Northridge are all great teams. I would hate to be one of the voting coaches. This is just a stange season. UCI at the top? UCLA with a losing record? Northridge knocking off two number one teams in a row? UCSD getting wins over Ohio State? Does anyone else feel like they may have wandered into the volleyball version of the Twilight Zone?
