Barbara Bachman Returns to the United States;
Hugh McCutcheon Remains in Beijing to Coach U.S. Olympic Men's Volleyball Team
BEIJING, China (Aug. 16, 2008) - With her recovery progressing, Mrs. Barbara Bachman has departed Beijing via air ambulance and been transferred to a hospital in the United States. All three of her daughters, including Elisabeth McCutcheon, have also returned to the United States.
Son-in-law Hugh McCutcheon, head coach of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Men's Volleyball Team, will remain in Beijing and return to his coaching duties beginning today. "We are indebted to the physicians and caregivers at Peking Union Medical College Hospital who have done such a wonderful job providing Barbara with the medical care she needed," Hugh McCutcheon said.
"We are also extremely appreciative of the support we have received from people here in Beijing, the United States, New Zealand and around the world. The prayers and support have been a source of strength for our family during this difficult time."

Read some updates on Mrs. Bachman's status. Very glad to hear she's doing much better, "talking and walking short distances while recovering at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota". www.visionsweb.com/ToddBachman/index.asp
