I'm seeing a large palm frond and a bowl filled with freshly peeled grapes in Doug Beal's future!

Considering that you have to be dead to be on a US postage stamp, I doubt that is going to be her first choice.

I think Lantg Ping's daughter will have her college paid for even without mom's assistance.

Let's play a game. How many JO entry fees does it take to pay Lang Ping's salary?

Sorry-not real familiar with Lang Ping. How old is her daughter? Does she play volleyball? I've never heard anything about her father - is he around?

The dad is rearing Lydia in Cali. not really sure what he does for a living, but he was a team handball player in China when they got married.
If I remember correctly, Lydia was playing 16 and under with one of the Cali clubs, or a 16 playing 18 and under. I think she is 6'2", as is mom.
Anyone? Bueller?

I believe they live in Tustin, CA 9Sohtern Cal) and will be a junior this fall. She plays club for TCA-18s which won the 18s open division at JOs. She primarily played opposite, coming off the bench. She was also on the US YNT this summer.

She also did some setting for TCA. Very polished player for a sophomore. Not quite as athletic as Mom.

If volleyball is a means to an end for her, she'll look at some lower profile vb program with a very fine academic reputation. Think: Northwestern, Virginia, Duke, Georgetown.
If volleyball is the raison d'etre, she'll look at the higher profile vb programs. Think: Stanford, UCLA, USC, Texas.
If she seeks to be near a Ranch 99, then she need look no further than UC Irvine, Cal, and Stanford. I can't believe Irvine has TWO Ranch 99s. Can you?

Sounds like a good reason to move the national Training Center to Southern Cal. If she is leaving anyway, move it to Chicago.

Ranch 99 is quite an experience, one of the few places where I've seen live shrimp in a tank. UCI (University of California, Irvine, it also stands for University of Chinese Immigrants) ;D ;D ;D
