For those who're able to watch CBC will be showing it at around 8AM EST on Saturday, Aug 23. Internet streaming will begin at 7:49AM EST as well.
It is just wrong that NBC won't show this live, but then again, they couldn't control this schedule unlike the Swimming or Gymnastics events to guarantee prime time broadcast in the US. After all, I don't believe NBC believed the VB teams were a "sure thing". Boo-hoo for NBC!

Yeah, I don't think NBC or anyone thought the US Teams would be in the finals. I know I sure didn't. That could've definitely been a factor. Just another sign that volleyball has a long way to go in this country, but hopefully these Olympic results will provide a boost. We see beach vball on NBC a lot, but we rarely see indoor volleyball at the international level outside the Olympics(and what they do show, is weeks old). I hope that changes.

Perhaps NBC will start coverage earlier live at 8 am EST instead of 10 am EST? I don't know where else to watch it live, even though some of you are recommending livestream?

Honestly, it's better for the sport for these matches to be in prime time or later in the AM -- when more people will be watching.
It sucks for us, but it's great for the sport.

You know, when my in-laws got married 60 years ago, you'd think they would have known this would be an Olympic year. Gotta go out of town to their anniversary party. So, I can't find the Women's Finals anywhere on the nbc site. Only thing I've found is Telemundo 12am-1am, Sunday morning. Men is scheduled prime time Sunday night. I don't have enough DVR time to tape every channel, every minute while I'm gone. Anyone know when the women's game will be broadcast and what station? Please? ??

Neither sport is on their TV schedule now, as far as I can tell. That could mean they are holed up somewhere figuring out how to make us happy.
Anybody else see that pink elephant a second ago?

Now it looks like they are showing something called "Error processing SSI file". Sounds good. I think the Belgians are favored.

Anyone know approximately what time the Women's Gold medal match will be played on NBC? In a nutshell just go to www.nbcolympics.com go to TV & online listings and pick your time zone.

After all, I don't believe NBC believed the VB teams were a "sure thing". Boo-hoo for NBC! We go through this every four years. By now we should all know that NBC is relying on swimming and gymanstics because that's what brings in the viewer$ and the rating$. This morning in Los Angeles a local public radio station KPCC(www.kpcc.org) was talking about lack or too much coverage of sports...quite interesting especially from the callers(radio listeners). www.scpr.org/programs/airtalk/

NBC, sometime during the 10am-6pm block on Saturday. Tape delay....which means I will stay away from VT until after 6pm.

As a long time volleyball fan and supporter of U.S. volleyball(indoors and beach) I too didn't think that our indoor teams would make the finals...just didn't feel the excitement or some kind of vibe like the '84 Olympic teams. Nevertheless it's great that two more U.S. teams are in the gold medal match. I know and some of my friends won't be cringing when we watch the match when we listen to the commentators...over and over again Chris Marlowe and Heather Cox keep repeating the same old story about the U.S. beach vball players...it was getting to be quite annoying.
