Wow- Arizona at 15? They are the number 1 team out of the Mountain West. And Boise State- who have they played?

Let the great debate begin. For those that may not know how the rankings were compiled, the league commissioners each sent in the projected rankings for their respective leagues. Then the overall rankings were compiled from that. Seem to be fairly decent for preseason, but the season will weed out the rankings. (or if they're anything like the BCS this year, then cause more problems). Good luck to all teams.

well... did they lose any players? I think Martin is gone. Besides this is just a preseason ranking off of very little, it'll change a lot as everything gets going in the next month or so.

I agree with SCMB19 that the previous poll is only a preseason poll and it means little until play begins. Most teams were not at full strength in preseason tournaments. It will be fun to watch as the season moves forward. Good luck to all teams.

Eh who cares. These rankings don't mean anything anyways. Anybody can beat anyone at anytime. Look at Oshkosh from last year. Ranked #1 half the season, then didn't even make gold at Nationals. Lakeland always struggles in the pre-season. Most of the tournaments they go to they don't even have a coach there. So look for them to be stronger in the regular season.

last I heard, martin was living in Chicago, playing in probably the best men's indoor league in the city at Shiel (chicago folks know what Shiel is about) That's SHEIL Park. Also has the best triples league (men or women) in Chicago.

Illinois has returned most starters i think excluding only the setter. they filled that position easily and almost beat Lewis at Loyola to get into the championship game. They will almost definetly be #1. Isn't Doug still setting? Ashida doing a great job...and Karl Miller can always step in if needed. I thought Doug was a Senior and still could be playing...

This list is a complete joke. Lakeland drops all the way to 12? Central Florida not even in the Top 30 or Honorable Mention? Wow.

I have a hunch that some leagues and some teams did not get rankings submitted in time for this national ranking...many teams are barely back on campus and deadlines get missed...
Next ranking in Feb should likely have some additional and better info.

It's preseason - look at the BCS preseason rankings this year & how many teams ranked high fell down & out of the top 25. Let the play on the court decide & even if the NIRSA seedings aren't perfect you still have to win your matches.

any truth to the Ohio State rumor that they have all ex-OSU varsity guys that somehow weren't listed on the varsity roster, thus, they don't count toward the max number of ex-varsity you can have on a club roster?
apprently a few from the same high school/same area?
any clarification?

The same big teams that were around last year will be there again, there will not be any surprises.
