any truth to the Ohio State rumor that they have all ex-OSU varsity guys that somehow weren't listed on the varsity roster, thus, they don't count toward the max number of ex-varsity you can have on a club roster? apprently a few from the same high school/same area? any clarification? Our team doesnt have "all ex varsity players"... we have a few players that were redshirts last year that quit, as specified by NIRSA they are not considered varsity atheletes. Some of our players went to high school together. Hope I cleared some stuff up.

Definitely getting excited about the season, I think a lot of teams in the NCCVL are playing really good volleyball. Anybody able to comment on D2? Being in california, we don't really see a lot of other D2s until nationals.

NCVF.... the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation. Basically they want to establish an organization that focuses specifically on Mens and Womens club volleyball. Unlike NIRSA (who sponsors a wide range of sports) who supposedly has been making profits off volleyball nationals for years and not putting anything back into our sport. This is just what I read, I dont know enough about it to be an expert. But they do finally have a website up, this should take you there ncvfvolleyball.org Also good east coast volleyball happening tomorrow. Tournament at James Madison that includes James Madison, Va Tech, Penn State and Navy...as well as some solid USAV teams. We will see who comes out on top!

For those that care about the East Coast, Penn State came away with a tournament win by beating James Madison in an exciting match, winning 15-12 in the third. Penn State knocked off Va Tech A in the semis and JMU knocked off a solid USAV mens team. Va Tech A had their moments but couldnt get anything going against State. Navy also looked solid as usual but lost to JMU in two close games during pool play. Maybe this will be the year for one of us east coast teams take home nationals, like I have been reading I think anybody can beat anybody on a given day.

Midwest 10 playday isnt till next saturday. It's going to be a tough day for all. almost all of the teams in the conference are very good, and even the worst teams in the conference are still above average teams.

It's going to be a tough day for all. almost all of the teams in the conference are very good, and even the worst teams in the conference are still above average teams. This will be a very good tournament to be at with some of the best club teams in the nation going at it. I am going to try to go but would appreciate an update with commentary on some of the matches just in case I can't make it up to Oshkosh if anyone else is going. Good luck to all the teams playing. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

well with NCVF doing more this year maybe sooner, but i'd say after Hoosier-Illini around the end of February... Initial league play and a couple big tournaments (far westerns & HIC) will be done by then. That will give them more than enough info to compile something remotely accurate.

Marquette hosts Oshkosh tonight at 7. A great rivalry renewed.
