Just curious what people think this poll would have looked like had UCLA lost the five gamer to UCSD? Would they still have stayed at number 2? Is there anyway you can place Penn State over them?

No. PSU is not in the same league as UCLA as evidenced by the 3 game loss a month ago. I would have thought there was a case for Long Beach jumping above PSU.

The polls are fun but generallly pointless at this point in the season.
Look at the MPSF seeding compared to the ranking. Pepperdine and UCLA are #1 and #2 in both respectively. But Long Beach is #4 in the nation (and next highest MPSF team) but #5 in the tournament and will not even host a first round. They will be hosted by Hawaii who is ranked below them at #5 but seeded one place higher at #4. BYU is the #3 seed in the tournament but is #6 in the nation.

I would be Ok with tha . It would be interesting to see who would get the at large if UCLA lost to CSUN in the quarterfinals. Of course, CSUN has to beat Stanford first.....
