Anyone have any idea if this has ever happened before? Sure looks to me like Pep will get the nod this year. The rest of the MPSF should be glad. Puts a big old target on Pep's chest, and a 400lb gorilla on their back as far as winning expectations. How can you not win the whole enchilada with a lineup like that?

I can tell you about the most recent time that it happened - The 2002 Season: Pepperdine's Junior Brad Keenan was POY, while Pepperdine's Freshman Sean Rooney was named ROY. However... despite those awards, the team fell to Hawai'i in the Championship Match (at Penn State).... only to see Hawai'i have their Championship taken due to NCAA violations a few months later. I'm sure the POY/ROY from the same team has happened before 2002 as well... but I believe that's the most recent occurance.

Yeah I forgot about Keenan getting the POY that year. I actually don't remember how long they have been doing rookie of the year or actually i think its "newcomer" of the year. Seems to me this is a relatively new award as in within the past 10-15 years.
