It just seems to me that the Hawaii fans are in denial that she might NOT go there. It has been rumored for so long that she is going there it has hurt her recruiting. I do know LB State, Texas and a couple of PAC-10 schools are now showing interest since they heard.

Looking through the threads, most posts are saying if she choses Hawaii. I don't see a lot of assumptions that say she has her heart set on Hawaii. It has simply been noted that Hawaii is in the running for her. I remember seeing an article that says she was considering USC. That makes sense since Bateman will graduate in 2010 and that will open up a scholarship for a setter for 2011. Texas is a bit of a surprise, since they probably won't have a scholarship available for a 2011 setter. They already have a commitment for Hannah Allison for 2010 and in 2011, Kocher will be a senior.

In regards to the 2011 recruits we are no where close to making offers and players are still a long way from making decisions. At a young age they think they know what they want then later that changes.

I personally don't care where she goes as long as she's happy with her decision,we want happy players and happy parents.

i personally would love to see moenoa here at hawaii BUT if she doesn't choose us then i'm sure she'll do a great job at whichever school she chooes to attend. of course, i like to be greedy - it's human nature - and im sure we're all a little greedy at times. if not hawaii, i would think she'd probably go to LBSU.

My mistake. Bateman is a 2011 grad. She was only a freshman this past year.

Megan will not be attending USC. Mick Haley hasn't even taken a peak at her (probably because his wife had some unkind words about her when we played Redondo last year). I have no problem with Megan attending Hawaii but considering how close she is with her family I just don't see her going away to school. I think Hawaii's program is awesome and it has a huge fan base which is very loyal. I am not by any means dogging Hawaii but just stating that there is a good chance she won't be attending Hawaii. I do know there is a scholly waiting for her if she decides as early as tomorrow.

It just seems to me that the Hawaii fans are in denial that she might NOT go there. That's ridiculous. The rumor is that Hawaii is near the top of her list. The few posters on this thread are talking about what the sholarship picture looks like for UH in the next few years IF she does decide on Hawaii. You contradict yourself here. How is it hurting her recruiting if LB, Texas and a couple of PAC-10 schools are "now showing interest since they heard"? It seems that the rumor has helped her recruiting based on your statement.

I'll just echo the sentiment that all these recruits need to make an informed decision that will make them happy. If they come to Hawaii, that's great - if they decide another program is a better fit for them, that's just fine, too.

This is a good surprise. A friend of mine saw Uiato play in a high school tournament last fall and was very impressed, he was also impressed by her teammate Litara Kiet. They connect so well. I think she is overlooked in So Cal, if she played in Hawaii she would be the best player in the state.
heres a nice clip for wahine fans, Uiato is #5 also Kaela Goodman is #4.

I agree, it is exciting news. I'm really looking forward to seeing Uiato and Goodman play!
If Kiet and Croson (and Moenoa) are also even considering Hawaii, it's even better news.

I'm not surprised that Moenoa already has an offer from Hawaii. She could be a four year starter for the wahine.
I thought she had family/friends in the islands? But if she prefers to play closer to home I don't blame her. I would hate to see her go to Long Beach state though. The last blue chip setter they signed got out of there as fast as she could.
