6'1 is kind of small for the middle, don't ya think?
kaufman is an exception since the girl is like a high jump record holder hah.
any possibilities of moving her to the outside or opposite?

Well, in these days, the minimum height for the middle is 6'2" or 6'3". However, a 6'1" middle can definitely make an impact too. The person that I can think of right now is Jessica Swarbick, and she made an amazing impact on the Huskies and the Pac-10.
Give this girl time, and I will not be surprised if she becomes a powerhouse too.

We'll order some orthotics for her and add at least another inch.

Wow, a picture WITH a Hawaii shirt on. Sweet! Thanks blaase.
Hmm... it seems like Shoji is going back to his roots and recruiting Southern California and local athletes. I wonder how good Goodman, Uiato, and Hartong are though. None are highly-touted but seem like "sleepers" in their class and solid athletes that can develop under the program.
Shoji is lucky that in Southern California there's a lot of athletes that have ties with the islands although they were not born here. Hopefully a few local girls can make the team as well, but things look pretty interesting!

Did she play at the last Ann Kang Vball Tourney this past year? If so what number was she? Played with Los Alamitos, with Jane Croson?

Well, there were a few prominent ones that I can remember off the top of my head. Nohea Tano Maja Gustin -- although it was only for one year and it's funny because the year Maja played outside, Nohea played the middle. Jennifer Roberts Sarah Mason Kee Williams

Sarah Mason never played middle. Even in high school, she was an outside hitter. Ironically, I believe a middle on that team was like ... 5'5?

Sarah Mason did play middle in high school...the 5'4 middle, Lindsey Lee was her opposite... And Sarah only played middle with Lindsey her senior year, because before that she played at Hilo... Back to the topic...hope this new commitment will be a great one for the Wahine...the Wahine haven't had a dominant middle in a while...hopefully she can do some damage as a Wahine.

I wonder if Hawaiian fans realize the unreasonable trauma undergone by this West Coast fan every time Hawaii gets a new player; that this crop will be the one to get Hawaii to the heights Wahine fans crave, rendering West Coast teams obsolete.......
