Sorry I didn't end up going. It's not worth it to pay $15 and watch from the 40th row Although I might've paid the 2 commentators $15 to just be quiet Sorry, I kind of wish I had gone just to have the pictures. Oh well...

Haysuess,
I loved the pictures from the semi's.
What camera, lenses, etc did you use? Were you shooting in Auto or shutter or apperture priority? ASA setting? Were you using a flash?
I have used my Digital Rebel at 1600 for volleyball but can't get the stop action consistently.

Half of them were at ISO 800, half were at 1600. Aperture priority with f/4 half the time and f/4.5 half the time. No flash as I was about 40-50 rows up. The lens is a professional Canon 70-200mm f/4 L which costs a pretty penny. The shutter speed was between 1/500-1/800 most of the time and sometimes hit 1/1000. I use a Digital Rebel modified to work as a D10 but that makes no difference in this situation. The modification enables ISO 3200 and some other features. If you're using the kit lens than the f/5.6 is probably the factor that affects the shutter speed the most. Also, Pauley is a very well lit gym although it seems the opposite. I don't think they even had extra lights for TV purposes.

Agree with previous posters - too bad you weren't there - the last set of pictures were GREAT! "My girl" got some airtime last night, too bad Mike didn't ask any of them their names (since she was RIGHT NEXT TO HIM) - I STILL can't believe that guy beat Aaron on 'Dream Job', he's AWFUL!! Anyway, Zartman's comment about supporting "the boys" since they do the same for their team got me wondering - how many of the women's team players do you think are dating men's team players? BTW, I agree with you about the broadcasting, don't get me started on them and the telecast as a whole (the semifinal matches included) or I might "go off" on a Dennis Miller like rant!
