Hello Volley Talkers, I am investigating some potential changes to make Volley Talk a better forum for spreading news and uniting fans for the sport of Volleyball. I need some of your help to make sure that I am not missing things that would make your Volley Talk experience more enjoyable. If you can spare a few minutes, I would love it if you chimed in with ideas for the forum's improvement or that would make using the forum easier. Some potential changes and suggestions have been:
Easier to remember URL (currently, we have VolleyTalk.net, but it's not perfect, If we change, the domain will be VolleyTalk.net.)
Change the color scheme so the bosses at work aren't on to "Volley Talk Blue" or have a customizable color scheme.
Email notification and be able to reply by emailing to threads
A better resource section - This was a suggestion in an IM but I'm not sure what they mean...
Others?
Don't worry, I'm not going to jump into changes. Mostly, I am looking to make the changes to make it easier to manage as a moderator and access as a user Volley Talk.
I seriously appreciate your time and suggestions on this matter. Odin

I think the URL change would be a great idea...

I would say a more user-friendly posting page. Some of us feel like we need to take a computer course at a local junior college just to figure out how to use some of the features... (I figured out how to "bold" though!)

SCORES I think that most of us click on here trying to get up to the minute scores.
GAME INFO The new gameday listing are tremedous...it shows the vast # of games on any given day. Updating this to show links to gametrackers...streaming...or line by line would help those of us trying to find a game.
RUMOR CENTRAL I need a laugh now and then...I love to read the latest rumors about farting al, how old BYU players are, and how many players UCSB has in the gym.
GAME INSITE The higher level posters could leave their insight on how a particular game is looking. First guessing is the theme.

What about the ability to read posts via your cell phone? Might as well read posts while you are waiting in line somewhere!
It would require the ability to find a thread and post in a simpler text only format. There is too much html and the post links are complicated for cell phone reading currently.

I think this to an extent depends on the browser the cell phone uses. I use a Nokia 6260 which uses Nokia's own browser. This one handles VTalk just fine - it did even before the v4 upgrade... I can read and post (as long as i am willing to write using the number pad) very easily. It'd be nice certainly to have a text only interface but I think the ability to post from Windows Mobile that came with v4 is great and I am not asking for more

You can login and change your profile to remove graphics, etc. Will that help the text interface? What that would help is the time it takes for the page to load - however if the browser can not handle the page formats, it won't to any good to that. For example, the problem with Windows Mobile had something to do with Java support - so it would not have helped with that.
