Looking for advice on volleyball shoes. (I am a rec player with no real team exp (ie. hs, club, college, etc.)
I have for years just used cross trainers. Running shoes made for easy ankle twisting and bball shoes felt too heavy.
any and all suggestions welcomed.
(btw, there are no sports stores around where I live that sells vball shoes, so I would buy them off the internet. This is why I am asking for your opinions here...so I can make a good decision.)
Thanks ;D

General impressions of the name-brand volleyball shoes out there. My foot type is overpronated, somewhat flat arches, and wide feet (I usually have to get Wide or EEE shoes). I only wore my vball shoes while in the gym, usually took them off right after court time was done and wore other shoes in/out the gym.
Nike - lightweight (at least they feel that way when you wear them). Not as durable. Good for people with narrow feet and high arches, I usually blew out the uppers on the outside (by your pinky toe) after a season or two.
Mizunos - dependable, good all-around shoe. Not a whole lot of arch support. More durable than Nikes. Sole grip was ok.
Asics - most durable of the major vball brand-name shoes. I usually can get 4-5 years out of one pair. Best bottom/sole grip, plant your foot with an Asics shoe and it stays planted. Somewhat heavier feeling shoe usually than a Nike shoe.

Asics and Mizuno are the best liked in my household. Several online stores sell them including Eastbay and Spike Nashbar www.spikenashbar.com/.
