UC Irvine in 3 over Ohio State to meet with USC after a five gamer with Penn State in a rematch of the MPSF semifinals is my guess, where Irvine will come out on top in 3.

Well that wasn't expected (by me).
I agree, UC Irvine will not have much trouble with OSU. They'll sweep.
I love my school, but I just can't see PSU getting to the finals let alone winning it this year. So USC and UC-Irvine for the championship.

Has the #1 seed ever been the at-large team before?

Hhhmm Considering all option I would have to say that outside of PSU coming in as the #1 seed like last year (which they blew early this year) this scenario is ideal.
If PSU had to play Irvine or Pepp in that semi I would be concerned....now that they match-up with SC I'm smiling ear-to ear. PSU will smoke SC in 3 and Beat Irvine in 4. all the pressure will be on Irvine to win in the final...too much to handle. SC shot their wad to get here and will be shut down by the PSU Block PSU VBall 2008 and 2008 National Champs.

Why would an at large ever be seeded #1... I feel like if UCI wanted to be ranked #1 they should have beat USC and not get humiliated like they did in 3 games...
Anyway, it doesn't matter... Penn Sate will crush everyone in Provo...

It's ignorant and cocky to believe that at this time of year that anyone will "crush" anyone. Yeah, ok, USC is going to simply roll over because they had hard matches? Not a chance. I'm a PSU fan and it's going to be one hell of a battle that I'm excited to watch. And I'm more excited that its the espn2 match that's live!
