I. Shape Round. Oblong. Large. Heavy. Paper-sack unfriendly. Hard to stack. Not convenient for refrigeration. Tends to roll at inopportune times.

II. Preparation Very tough rind. Requires a huge knife or axe. Buzzsaw also works. Juicy. Cleanup required even before the feast begins. You can cube it (excessive work), slice it (messy) or wedge it (not plate-friendly).

III. Edibility Juicy (again) = excessively messy. Full of seeds. Do you swallow? Do you spit 'em out? If the latter, where? And how is it done with proper etiquette? Proper utensil. Spoon? Fork? Fingers? Icepick?

IV. Disposal Feast complete. Now what? Disposal? Trash can? Woods? Pigs?

V. Danger to children This is self-explanatory. Don't let this happen to your child.

VI. Evil This is my personal opinion. You are free to dispute this, but I will not be persuaded otherwise.

Want debate..? INCONVENIENT ? Easy to grow..even a caveman can do it. CHEAP...even poor people on welfare can afford it. Diverse ? YEP... white and Brown..black and yellow LOVE it. But not in winter in Minnesota. Round ...no.. oblong yes...same as an egg...both spoil and break...but try and eating an egg raw. Cant cut it? well gunshots dont work either ..but shooting them is fun...try a shot gun or 270. splatter effect is great. Dropping them works well..but not in kitchen.. Terrorist with Machetes love them...one stroke ..kinda like beheading. Are you a terrorist...regulate them. Preparation time...? Compared to what ...a banana? RICE? Steak? Juicy ..yep...best when juicy..LOW calorie..but watch it if your blood sugar needs regulation? I spit seeds for distance using ballistics...others use wind...never spit into wind or on granny's rug. Now we have seedless watermelons.. KINDA like liberals.. Cant help it... Disposal..yep .. biodegradable...just heave it into your neighbors back yard... tell him you are feeding his wildlife. Is that ex pres..BUSH in the watermelon? Blame Bush for this thread.

The only fruit I know is GSoBBoob. Also round, large, and heavy.

I hope to find this type of watermelon this summer. Really sweet. I have not eaten those since I left Taiwan. I see them at the local marts but they all looked kind of sickly.

Tampering with God's design -- whether it be the shape or the seeds -- is not convenient. Especially since it could subject us all to eternal damnation. Damned _inconvenient_, if you ask me.
