sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4226658&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlinesI don't know who follows football or cares about football, but I ran across this article and in an excerpt it states: "The 36-year-old Harrison holds the NFL record for defensive backs with 30½ sacks; he also has 34 interceptions, making him the only player to have at least 30 of each. But the numbers only tell part of the story about a player who had a reputation as one of the hardest hitters in the league -- and one of the dirtiest, too. "People have called me a dirty player. I'm a very passionate player," Harrison said. "I also understand that this is not volleyball. This is a very violent, physical game, and if you hit someone in the mouth, they're not going to be your friend. That's what the game of football is." I'm pretty sure there are some dirty volleyball players and trash-talkers out there. Question is who comes to mind?

Of course, that's part of the appeal of volleyball: It ain't football.

Of course, that's part of the appeal of volleyball: It ain't football. It's hard for any net sport to be "dirty" in the sense that sports with no barrier between opponents can be.

Forget football, what's sad is that WWF gets more attention and respect than volleyball.
Name the sports with the greatest league/business success, media coverage, and fan following:
Football Basketball Baseball Hockey Boxing
It's no coincidence that those are all games with high contact or played in close quarters. Our species enjoys violence as much as the rest of our fellow animals.

And its not played in close quarters. have you ever seen a baseball fight? Enough said.

Have you ever seen a baseball fight? Enough said. I do fondly recall the 46-yr-old Nolan Ryan beating up the 26-yr-old Robin Ventura when the latter charged the mound at him.
