I haven't heard of any of those supposedly embarassing gaffes. So maybe they aren't as major as you seem to think? Nah, they were major. You just need to pull your head outa your ass and pay attention better to what's going on around you. Good luck. Major? Ah, no. Major would be leaking the name of a CIA operative to Robert Novak. Or shooting someone in the face on a hunting trip. Or calling a journalist a "big time" @$$%*!*. Or all of those other things you never gave a damn about, like pushing torture, holding secret meetings with Ken Lay about energy policy, pocketing millions from Halliburton et al while in office ... and on and on and on. Biden talking too much? Not such a big deal.

Gawd, that's horrible. She shoulda just went with the "I may have smoked pot in the 70's, but you know what? I didn't inhale..." poster child excuse. It's just so much more credible. Gotta give her credit Bob- At least she didn't inhale at 5 different colleges. An accomplishment even an old burnout like you can be proud of.LOL. I waste so much sarcasm on dumb people like blob here who has no clue what I was referring to. Oh well.

My other persona is fast asleep, but I'll pass along the compliment.

Sarah Palin. Poster child for the "...I may have smoked a lot of pot in the 70's...but it's ok, cause now I'm a right wing,neo-con nutjob" crowd. Don't forget about the cocaine, meth, and LSD.

"Now that we've cleared that up, let's have a little thought experiment. Let's just suppose that someone had asked David Letterman if, when he told that joke, he meant to insinuate that Willow Palin has promiscuous sex with older men, and he had said, "Hey, take it however you want to take it."
You know... since we're talking about double standards."
There is a simple reason why I can't stand Sarah Palin. She, like W before her, is trying to make stupidity a virtue. She's stupid and she's mean. Quite the combo.

Mikegarrison,
The third gaffe may have been obscure but if you missed the first two then you are entirely unqualified to comment. Those were both lead stories. When you say he has been invisable, I have to belive that is because you haven't been paying attention.
Lonewolf, NBC had Palin on to bash Letterman because with Conan O'Brien now up against Letterman this ratings period will impact profits for years and I'm sure she knew that. She went on to talk about the gas pipline, which is her job as governor, then she kept her face on TV for as long as NBC would allow, which every politician does.
(Note: Since posting this I read that this may actually be improving Letterman's ratings, though I still think NBC set this up to take an opportunity to get "Letterman" in the same sentence with "Rape" "Pervert" "Classless" and "Not funny")
Schadenfruede (and Ruffda...really everybody on here),
The reason you can't stand Sarah Palin is because you don't want to. You didn't want to like Cheney or Bush. At some point all politicians will do something to justify our prejudice but when Condoleeza Rice's "blackness" was questioned it killed any illusion that either side was being objective in its evaluation of the other sides people. You don't need to pretend that you have reasons for hating these people, its just ideology, because face it, if they agreed with you, there wouldn't be a problem.

When you say he has been invisable, I have to belive that is because you haven't been paying attention. I certainly haven't been going out of my way to pay attention to the politcal news. But other than not caring about petty partisan bickering, I actually tend to be fairly attentive. Maybe it's just that I don't watch infotainment like talk shows? But whatever, whether I noticed something or not doesn't really prove anything. But let's look at this. Are you claiming the Swine Flu doesn't exist? It has been declared a level 6 pandemic by the WHO, the highest possible. It also has the highest level of alert in the US, too. So what untruth did Biden say, and what damage did his comments cause? As for the recovery thing, I didn't hear about that particular comment. But I think there's a damn sight better than 30% chance that whatever actions the government does will be ineffective at best. Still, I suppose it wasn't one of the talking points he was supposed to be saying. And come on, this rail tunnel thing is pretty damn obscure. Even Google didn't turn up much. If that's all you've got on Biden, I stick by my assertion that he's been effectively invisible -- which is what Obama wants him to be.

Speaking for myself, I don't let my politics interfere with whether I like someone or not. Bill Clinton? Never cared for him. Al Gore? Not a fan. John Kerry? Not so much. The list goes on and on.
Now, I may prefer their politics over some others, but that doesn't mean I like them.

I was ready to give her a chance, but then she was just so damned nasty at the GOP convention. Couple that with her pride about her lack of qualifications and her plain old stupidity ...

I'm gonna vote for her because she's hot, and I'm hoping she'll do a presidential swimsuit calendar after she gets erected....err...elected.

I am somewhat surprised that Palin is still getting so much attention from the liberal media. That is, she seems to get much more press than Joe Biden who is actually our Vice President. Biden makes his share of goofs and wacky comments on a fairly regular basis. Maybe it's because Joe is a known quantity having been around Washington DC since the 70's. I guess for Obama, Biden is sort of good news/bad news story. On one hand his incompetence (and a few other top Dems like Pelosi and Reid) make him look good, but there are also times when he has to perform damage control on Biden's off the cuff remarks.
