SOBB, have you stopped beating your drag queen boyfriend? And I hope you will just answer this original question "yes" or "no" without a lot of pointless semantic analysis. Actually, I'm a lesbian. And she's not a drag queen, she just looks like one. Can't just answer the original question - gotta turn everything into a platform to make some reference to your bizarre sexual practices.

Although I must admit I saw an awful lot of support by some people for the liberalization of executive power in the last eight years. I'm sure they'll all suddenly find the principles again now that those powers are being used by a black democrat.

From the time of the USA-PATRIOT act on, I kept imagining what all the Republicans pressing for more and more Executive power with less and less oversight would think if it was Hillary Clinton in that office. (Of course, it turned out to be Obama instead.)

I never used to consider myself a liberal, but the Bush, Cheneys, Limbaughs,Hannitys, O'Reillys, Becks, Coulters, etc, etc, etc have scared the crap out of me, and sent me over to the dark side.
I tend to be all over the map politically:
pro gun control- How bout a little common sense here- 30,000 some Americans killed by guns every year. Some police forces outgunned by gangs with automatic weapons. F the NRA. Common sense people.
Anti Unions- Unions were a great idea back in the day when people were being abused. Auto workers making 70.00 an hr with ridiculous retirement benefits- not too cool.
Pro strict immigration control- I live in California, need I say more.
Pro choice- Its none of my goddamn business.
Gay marriage- Who cares, let the states decide. But I don't want gay rights advocates ramming their agenda down my throat and telling me I'm a bad person because I think marriage is between a man and woman.
We need to get tougher on crime.
We need to balance the budget and stop ridiculous wasteful spending. We need to stop worrying about being Democrats or Republicans, liberals or conservatives, and just be a bit more reasonable people.
My rant for the day. Thanks for letting me vent!

Autoworkers aren't making anywhere near $70/hour.
Corrupt unions are a problem, but workers are still being abused. Maybe more so than ever. There needs to be some way to fight back against the greedy SOBs.
You want obscene? Look no further than executive pay. Where's all that money coming from? Just take a guess.

When its your guy, you hold your tongue and wait for your boy to do something to justify taking those liberties. When the guy is someone you don't have any faith in you don't have the same patience.

I wouldn't trust MYSELF with broad discretionary executive powers. ALL humans are fallible. ALL humans lust for power. ALL humans want to take the easiest route. This is why so many reform leaders worldwide go from liberator to dictator in about 10 years.

There needs to be some way to fight back against the greedy SOBs. . They're doing more harm than good...just look at GM/Chrysler etc. They also take ridiculousness to the extreme. Try working, or setting something up - say a volleyball tournament - in a convention center that is union run. I've also seen guys yelled at for picking up a broom and sweeping, they were done with their job and bored, but sweeping was someone else's responsibility, so they were told to sit there, do nothing and get paid. On another odd note is how pro-union people often seem to be anti-socialism when the two are more alike than different.

yawn..as usual you sheep still cant grasp why the country is in TURMOIL. so lets examine some points..
1.Autoworkers aren't making anywhere near $70/hour.
Corrupt unions are a problem, but workers are still being abused. Maybe more so than ever. There needs to be some way to fight back against the greedy SOBs.
You want obscene? Look no further than executive pay. Where's all that money coming from? Just take a guess.
Wrong on several levels.. Yes UNION workers are MAKING that much including all BENEFITS THEY DONT INCLUDE IN TAKE HOME PAY.
That be teachers..auto workers or low life PAINTERS..not an exact amount but up there..no one complains as long as THE FREE MARKET AND TAX PAYERS WILL SUPPORT THOSE WAGES.
IF that FAILS...TEACHERS and other UNIONS ASK FOR GOVERNMENT BAILOUTS.
MY painter UNION hasn't...so dont lump all unions as evil or corrupt...many are just inept.
I WONDER WHY YOU ATTACK BUSINESS and or UNIONS when its the GOVERNMENT that is more corrupt..more OVERPAID and not following the rules of law or the constitution.
ever hear of divide and conquer?
OUR GOVERNMENT has divided and split us into separate groups based upon color, race, gender, sexual preferences...and so on.
The GOVERNMENT HAS GRABBED MORE POWER ..without any check and balance and you continue to whine about conservative this and liberal that.
It is us that are THE SHEEP BEING HERDED...split among our silly factions..never getting a majority to defend what is and should be ours..a truly represntative GOVERNMENT.
I am going to mow the pasture...
