No, my season ticket package is weekday (M-Th) only, sorry. But if I'm around that weekend I probably wouldn't mind meeting up. Let me know. mikegarrison@alum.mit.edu Unfortunately, I'm not excited about bringing him out at night. Have to leave too soon. Otherwise, I know the M's are in town that week. I might need some help getting around. It's harder with the baby. How do I get from downtown to the ballpark without using a carseat?

I might need some help getting around. It's harder with the baby. How do I get from downtown to the ballpark without using a carseat? The ballpark is downtown, pretty much. If you are in one of the hotels toward the north end of downtown, you can take a bus through the tunnel, saving about 10-15 blocks of walking. transit.metrokc.gov/tops/tunnel/tunnel.htmlIt's a little confusing, but the closest stop to the stadium is just outside the tunnel. However, if you use that stop, you need to pay the fare. Inside the tunnel itself it's free. It's about 4 more blocks or so of walking if you get off at the last tunnel stop. My dad and I usually either drive in or (occasionally) take the bus in. In either case, we like to eat at a restaurant in Chinatown (aka "the International District") which is very near that last tunnel stop. From there you cross 4th Ave at a signalled crosswalk, cross a pedestrian bridge over the train tracks, and walk around Qwest Field to Safeco Field.

No of course they're not the same. Look, we're never going to agree on this. You just want your entertainment, and don't care about the character of the people you patronize. I prefer to let my kids know that the headlines they read about Kobe Bryant cheating on his pregnant wife are not cool with me, and we're not going to support that kind of behaviour. That's my choice....and it's yours to support who you want to support. I understand where you're coming from, though. I'd say that my opinion is obviously the minority one. In the context of the economic difficulties that our country is facing, the fact that we can't seem to afford healthcare, that states are going bankrupt, I choose not to support the obscene salaries that sports figures are commanding.

We are staying technically north of downtown, I think, quite a few blocks north of the convention center, if that helps. Actually, we are closer to the Space Needle

BTW, as it happens Dad and I do have tickets to a Wed afternoon game on the 8th. Don't know if you are in town then or not. I expect both of us will be using them, though. Doesn't mean we couldn't meet up, though. And most of the time there are unused seats near ours. (We are in the upper deck approx above first base, but the seats are still pretty good and much less expensive than the lower deck).

Actually, we are closer to the Space Needle Yeah, so you would want to get to the Westlake Center or Convention Center stations. Depending on where your hotel is, you might also consider taking the monorail or the South Lake Union Streetcar. Both go to Westlake Station. www.seattlestreetcar.org/map/

p-dub- No of course they're not the same. So why do you bring it up? As far as I know, there aren't any (known) pedophiles playing professional sports. Or in the movies, for that matter. I will agree, though, that if there are known child molesters in the entertainment field, it should be addressed. But by arresting them, that is. I'm not getting the connection. How does you going to watch the Lakers support Kobe Bryant cheating on his wife? I'm curious, do you watch any entertainers of any sort? Do you check up on their private lives, too? Just because they don't make the papers, don't mean they aren't slime (Kobe Bryant's behavior is no more or less objectionable if it is or isn't reported in the papers).

No, I don't go hiring private investigators to check up on them. Yes, character does matter to me. Finally, I'm tired of supporting overpriced thugs, when their bad behavior is rammed down my throat on the nightly news. Something again doesn't seem right about our country acting as if we're facing a terrible economic crisis, can't afford healthcare, states going bankrupt- yet people continue to pour money into the pockets of these dopes. Th...Th...Th...Th...Thats All Folks.....!! PS- I wouldn't include the Mariners on my list of thugs. Enjoy the game.LOL. Take it away p-dub!!!! I'm out

So if the media would just stop reporting on their behavior, you would have no problem with it. Sounds to me like your real beef is with the news, not the players. BTW, what makes them overpriced? Personally, I think most events are far underpriced (actually, this is objectively true - just see the success of scalpers..er..."ticket brokers")

I have to admit, it's been entertaining watching you twist what I said around"..... watching the Lakers means I'm supporting Kobe Bryant cheating on his wife?".....um....not quite what I said. But twist away. After 7,000 some posts, you've become quite adept at it.

Given that this was in the context of a discussion about paying $100 for a ticket, you'll have to forgive me for inferring that you meant you aren't "going to support that kind of behaviour" by buying a ticket for Lakers' games.

I'd love to stay and kibbitz with you a little more, but I've got to go save the world from bastards like Kobe. But first I need to check out the next episode of John & Kate Plus Eight.
Your Friend,
