We'll I'll begrudgingly give you credit. At least you did have some experience with him. But my only point being that a lot of people hear something about someone, and without really knowing the person make a judgement. I know thats the reality of our stupid celebrity driven culture, but it aint right. No hard feelings stonehands? By the way, I heard that your hands really aren't that bad.

I never knew what FIGJAM meant until now (nor did I know it was Phil's nickname).

ha ha no hard feelings. my mama taught me better than that. i mean you still could be right he might have had a hair up his butt those days, and just caught him at a bad time on two separate occasions. i'm just not much of a lemming. BTW: FIGJAM isn't something relegated just to Phil. In the Army we have all sorts of neat names for people that "impress" us on a daily basis. Well my hand use to be great until the beach/indoor rules changed. But I guess that's a topic for a different thread. What do you think of Mike Weir's chances?

It would be interesting if he was the first lefty to win The Open, instead of "Lefty". LOL.
Correction: The US OPEN. Those Brits might get pissed because they claim the British Open as The Open.

Where on earth did David Duval come from? His return from Narnia is shaping up to be fairly impressive. From the looks of him, I'd say that rigorous training program at my favorite gym "In N Out" is serving him well.

I think Duval golfs better when he's chubby. He made it all the way to World #1, then he went out and lost all that weight and got damn near anorexic and started touting all these fitness routines in the magazines and stuff, and then lost his whole game.
It's good to see him back. When he's playing his best, he's probably the toughest challenger that Tiger Woods could possibly face. All the talent is there, plus he's mentally tough unlike Mickelson, who's prone to do something dumb like make triple bogey when he's on the 72nd hole of the US Open with a 2 shot lead.

I agree about Duval. It would be an awesome story for someone who struggled so hard to make such a great comeback. There are some good stories out there, like Barnes and even "doughboy", with what his wife is going through. I wouldn't mind if Phil would lose the "euro" look with the tight shirts and white belt.

Ya know, Tiger's not out of this thing yet. With the pressure the two guys at the top will be feeling, the difficulty of Bethpage, and Tiger's ridiculous ability for the spectacular, its not out of the question that he could be in the running at the end of tomorrow. Should be fun to watch. I'm sure I won't be getting a lot of work done tomorrow.

I would love to see Duval make a comeback to challenge the field on a regular basis. I wish him the best. Tiger has always been a tough competitor. It used to be his critics would say he had a hard time beating the leaders from behind. Part of that was he was rarely ever behind. If I were a pro golfer I would never count Tiger out. He commands that kind of respect. I'm pretty sure I won't be the only one sneaking a peak online and since I work in IT no one is going to know (insert evil laugh here).
I am usually not one to criticize fashion choices, but I agree that Phil needs to find a better look to match his "physique". I'm not crazy about the lettuce or that his shirts reveal a bit more than I car to look at. To bad they don't play golf under the lights or play night golf with day glow balls. I've played golf in the snow and that is all bad except the putting is a little more treacherous than bermuda grass.

Yeah he's the best out there by a large margin, but the crap he gets away with on TV and from the PGA Tour just because he is the marquee guy is reprehensible. The #157th guy on tour will throw a fit or drop his club or cuss on TV and the Tour will fine his ass or he'll be talked to. Tiger does the exact same crap and the announcers are all kissing his ass while Tim Finchem looks the other way and everyone else just sighs and goes, "Oh! He's SO COMPETITIVE! Look at him!" Tiger is a dumbass.

Tiger is a dumbass. Considering all the adulation he gets, he's actually done a fairly good job of not letting his dome swell to ginormous proportions. He does have his moments though, and ya gotta love Miller for calling him out on it. Miller...." Tiger didn't have very good control on that shot"....(and after lip reading F-bomb)..."and he didn't have very good control of his mouth".... LOL. The players hate MIller cause he doesn't kiss their butts. I think he's great.

Kind of an anticlimactic finish - They all seemed to fall apart at the end, with Phil gagging again. Kinda bummed for Duval.
