Don't you think that perhaps the press and the intense focus on her all the time has made it very difficult for her to do her job? What's your point? That she's justified in quitting because of the intense media scrutiny? Welcome to politics. She certainly courted the press and prolonged the coverage when it suited her. We don't know why she resigned because in her long speech she never specified why but if it was because she couldn't take the heat, in my opinion, she's a quitter. A lot of elected officials have it just as bad or worse than her. Good thing McCain wasn't elected. She would have just quit being VP. Come on Barky...we all know she was the only politician getting focused on by the press. They haven't been doing anything else...and you also know that they've never focused or covered any other politicians before her. Stop hiding behind your liberal bias and join the real world.

Well, you know what they say, "When the going gets tough, ... resign." So when she becomes President, and North Korea or Iran threatens nuclear war, we can be sure she'll ... resign.

Palin links resignation to "higher calling"! She could be a martyr! After the never ending jaded spotlight has glared so long on her and her family , I think people will put her in that category. Let's see, Craig, Ensign, and Sanford have not resigned yet because of the glare of the spotlight. Carter didn't resign, even though Billy was a bubba and Miss Jillian talked too much when she tippled a few. Clinton didn't resign when he had that unfortunate laundry accident. Dubya didn't resign because one of the twins was caught for underage drinking in Austin. Its part of the job.

And the same goes for that guilty plea, too."

Ah yes, now I remember, the old Twin City Two Step, it was a toe tapping kind of tune.

Make up your minds. First you criticize her for putting her kids in the spotlight and then you call her a quitter. The way that some of you talk out of both sides of your mouth makes me think that perhaps some of you would make excellent politicians.

Don't you think that perhaps the press and the intense focus on her all the time has made it very difficult for her to do her job? She was governor of a state, and a candidate for VP of the USA. Press and focus upon her is part of her job. If she can't handle it, she's in the wrong line of work. ....and she is resigning, correct? She is finding another line of work. You point is?

I think you need some classes in formal logic or reasoning as the way those statements were made were not contradictory in any sense. However, they way you are twisting statements to serve your own purpose would make you an excellent politician. There's no mention of criticism of putting her kids in the spotlight in this thread (and only 2 in a much older thread if I recall correctly), only statements that your kids getting thrown into the limelight if your running for president is to be expected. Also, people aren't really calling her a quitter, just questioning motives and decisions.

Mmm...Wrigley was simply pointing out that this choice from Palin should thrill most of you and yet you still are dedicating page after page to your hero and mentor. What did Obama do today or do any of you even know.

LOGIC ,
HERE?
You gotta be kiddin'?
Since there is no point it boils down to personal vendettas. Point is ..she resigns.
SHE MAY BE SMARTER than YOU?
Maybe she is telling the truth?
Have any of you evidence she isn't.. Like me making up NK missile launches ..or that the economy is worst. Or that OBAMA gets way more FREE POSITIVE PRESS COVERAGE with his kids than anybody ever did? Certainly more favorable than PALIN received by the big tent party.
Maybe she wants to hunt MORE... Maybe she'll write children's books.
Maybe being a Governor wasn't the best thing for HER... I think 49 others are saying that...about their political lives.
I guess we'll have to watch the news about what OBAMA'S wife wore in RUSSIA or how he pissed off the Russians.
stuff that matters,
while our country goes down.
