Nice post..about time.. Now if we can get Coaches fired for allowing that behavior while earning Millions ..then quiting and taking another job when caught.
Schools should be fined and the penalty money distributed among NEEDY STUDENTS with good grades ..but cant afford school.

The author's take on junior college transfers doesn't seem to jibe with what I know about NCAA eligibility rules. The claim is that JC students might take bare bones classes without making progress towards a degree.
In my experience many student-athletes went the JC route because they couldn't meet the NCAA's initial freshmen eligibility standard. The NCAA doesn't allow such a student athlete to transfer from a JC to a four year school without actually graduating from the JC. If they don't meet the requirements for an associates degree, they aren't allowed to transfer. Perhaps the academic rigor may not be that high, but one still has to meet more than just basic JC athletics eligibility requirements to get that two year degree.

Now if we can get Coaches fired for allowing that behavior while earning Millions ..then quiting and taking another job when caught. yes...and it really pisses me off when I see the settlement settlement for firing a men's basketball coach or football coach...a number that can fund(including salaries and scholarships) any volleyball program in the country for at least a year.
