I still laugh just as hard as the first time when I watch "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

Even people (like myself) who grew up later use his movies to define the 80's. His name is the first thing that comes to mind when that decade is mentioned. I've always been a big fan of his work.

Long Duk Dong: [looks through frosted glass on door] Is that you? Jake: Yeah, that me. Long Duk Dong: [opens door] Oh, I'm so sorry. I thought you my new - new-style American girlfriend. ________________________________________________ Grandma Helen: Oh Sam, let me take a look at you. Fred, she's gotten her boobies. Grandpa Fred: I better get my magnifying glass. Ha Ha Ha. Grandma Helen: Oh, and they are so PERKY. My favorite John Hughes scene from my favorite John Hughes movie. There used to be a better version of YouTube, but this one will have to do for now:
Lisa: "She kneed you in the nuts and called him faggot in front of his friends!" Mitch: "She did WHAT?" Dino: "Bitch kneed your nuts?" Fats: "In da family jewels?" Gary: "Worst pain there is...." Wyatt: "Broke my heart in two!" Fats: "Broke more than your heart..."
Hahahaha....this scene is funny every single time I watch it.

I'll give you Bueller and maybe Breakfast Club, but c'mon. We aren't talking Fellini here.
(And the Home Alone franchise just about cancels out anything else he did.)

Nobody really cares about your elitist uber movie critic abilities, or lack thereof. Hughes made alot of movies that alot of people truly enjoyed, and continue to enjoy. End of story.

And I'm sure lots of people like Miley Cyrus, pole-dancing and all.
So I use Fellini as in "he's no Einstein" and I'm an elitist? Nice.
