Me and this dang ol flue.

I have been posting a little more because this is day 5

Day 1 .. Sinus trickle..sudden and severe...you feel OK but know the shoe is about to drop.Sudden sneezing..lots of times.

Day 2 ..You think allergy and take some allergy pills .. doesn't help.
Sever muscle pains...feels like you have been wrestling all night and LOST.Nagging cough starts ...along with headaches and chills.
Sneezing and nasal drip is really irritating.

Day 3..SUCKS.
Muscle pain is still there ..cough and chills increasing...throat tickle subsiding along with less sneezing.all day chills despite 80 temps.

Day 4...ahh, Coughing is way down. Muscle pain is gone..I can actually move.Sneezing is gone...although the nose is plugged ..you can blow freely.THE DANG THROAT drip is finally gone.
I feel about 75% better.

Day 5 ..I actually feel better ..not fully recovered but stronger..I'll take it easy today ..play with my chicks..do some chores around the farm...I start around 6 am..rest ..walk my mile..and take a nap...I bowl tonight so I will stay a way as much as possible ...since coughing and sneezing have stopped.

Remember the shots are NOT ready yet..my wife works in the states health care delivery system and we are usually the 1st to get them.

I had the flu just as you describe - mostly coughing, muscle ache and severe fatigue - a few weeks ago. It lasted 2 full weeks. Very miserable time.

I do have the ability being retired to get more rest than when tapping sheetrock all day.

This flue is reported to effect the young harder and more than the elderly?

That is probably H1N1. It was just reported that it can be contagious for up to 10 days, even after the fever is gone.
