Do the Midwest College Men's club volleyball rivalries bring out the worst in good/honest players?

Rivalries are always fun. some people just take it way out of control sometimes.

Rivalries really kinda suck in club because no one has a fan base to support it. So it's really just a rivalry between 30 people or so, and players talking trash. And they usually end up getting along anyway. I wouldn't say it does any harm though.

how is it possible then for these players to converse with one another off the court when the match is all said and done with and for there to be no bad blood between them?

Because most of the tournaments have after parties hosted by the teams where everyone gets trashed, and it is a good time. By then, mostly everyone is cool with each other.

I think trash talk is just a part of the game. Maybe I'm just an @$$%*!*. Sure, some people get offended, but then they don't really realize that this is just for fun. Nobody's getting paid to be here, in fact most are paying a pretty good chunk of change. If someone's getting uptight about it, then taper it off. I talk enough trash to fill a landfill, but (at least I hope) nobody's going to get offended, I'm one of the most laid back people anyone will ever meet. I'll still know enough to give someone their props on a good play after I've told them that I own them.

Well it's is official, jas1vans can be given a sh*t talking award. For The second time this season I have seen he and his team shush the opposing team right out of the match. Apparently not saying anything at all can be the loudest sh*t talkin around!

I see this guy every tourmanent, he's a good dude. He doesn't talk trash excessively....he'll give you props if you make a good play. He has to be a little over the top to ignite his otherwise very quiet team. That's what being a leader is.

That's what being a leader is. i guess i'll give you that......it takes a little bit extra to be a leader for a team.....how this guy goes about it is alittle excessive. But he means well and produces for his team....It's just funny to hear him talk is my point.....

What's sad is his team is so depleted he had to become a setter for the team to function. He used to be an outside, and a good one at that. Purdue has a similar situation, their 6'5 opposite of the last 3 years has to set now as well.

Yeah, it is too bad that his team has dropped off from last year..but it says alot for him that he can still be so positive on the court. He does talk some trash, but you can definitely tell it is good natured and for fun. I enjoy playing teams that are nice guys. It can be rare coming out of the midwest.

Yes that Milwaukee team is a little young from what I know. Most of that team are first year or second year college club players. Its to bad because the do have some talent, but its talent that is still getting used to playing together. I guess they won the all tournament team in Iowa, which shows that they can play and that teams do like that the group of guys.

I see alot of similarities between UWW and UWM. ANd when the have there hearts in their play, those two teams are tough and very fun to watch.
