Had to be because of the early season sweep of Illinois (another possibly over-rated team). They really don't have any other wins of note, although they have a five-set loss to Notre Dame. I'll be surprised if they get past Oregon.

With FSU and Hawaii, they obviously relied heavily on RPI (lame as it is).

Karch says: 8 teams from Pac10, evenly distributed 2 each in each regional. Should be a good test of how strong they really are vs the rest.

Of course Florida State would get the 3 seed with 5 set wins over NDSU, Wake Forest and Clemson.

Giving FSU a 3 and Hawaii a 12 -- just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I was thinking the same thing...their schedule isn't impressive at all so why is their RPI so high? the only top teams they've played is Florida and Illinois

Not hosting might be OK for Hawaii. I've heard past players state that they feel less pressure playing on the road and not in front of the large home crowds at the SSC. Of course, not good for us fans who want to see them play. Playing at USC will probably mean that they'll still have good support from the many ex Hawaii residents who live in SoCal.

I thought teams in the same conference weren't supposed to potentially meet before the regional finals?
Seems like they could have switched the places of the four teams going to Iowa State with the four teams going to Colorado State? That would only have involved switching #6 Washington with #7 Iowa State.

PAC-10 & Big 10 evenly distributed, Big 12 obviously NOT. Ridiculous bracket, though I think Hawaii is seeded as high as they could have hoped. I knew those talking about UH as a top 6 seed were on the pipe.
Omaha regional is inexcusable, but no matter. We can and will handle any of those teams.

FSU isn't making it out of the Sweet 16... and they may not even make it there.
Godspeed to all teams having to play Nebraska in the state of Nebraska this postseason... I just hope Texas can get it done again.
