So, I just got back from my vacaton in Korea and before I left I caught a bit of the news. In the sports section of the news was some korean professional volleyball and on one of the teams was sean rooney.
I didn't know that he was playing in Korea. Anyone have any further info on this.

I hear rumors that they are paying him like $150,000 or more and also he gets to take any person he wants there to go back with him to the US to play beach on the AVP. Also what ever money that et from winning tourneys, that Korea will match the amount they make. But it is just what i heard

He has a full-time AVP partner already - and has for awhile. Do you people make these things up as you go along?

Too bad Rooneey can't get it over their block!! He has to be feasting in Korea if that is a typical block being put up. OUCH!!

Yeah I was going to say the same thing! How are those players pros being so small? The middle looks like he's barely 6'0? Is this typical over there? I mean he must hit near .900 a match if it is. And then secondly, if this is the case what kind of opportunities to play over there are there?

And then secondly, if this is the case what kind of opportunities to play over there are there? It is fairly common over there. You're not going to see a lot of huge players from Korea or Japan. China tends to have some taller players. The camera angle might make the height difference much more pronounced, but there is still a height difference with respect to Rooney and the other players. The picture of him with his teammates show that he does have some significant height, even on them. But also remember that the Asian style of play is geared for shorter players. To compete, they have solid fundamentals and can dig some of the most wicked shots even without a block. Rooney is probably having enjoying a definate height advantage, but isn't completely destroying teams either.

Plus there are Domincans and Puerto Rican. Most of them are NOT citizens. You must have OFFICIAL US sponsorship, in other words papper work. NOT citizenship, it would be similar to working papers ro something that allows them to receive moneys from the AVP if they win a tournament.
