His record works against him. 2009 27-5-0 2008 17-13-0 2007 13-21-0 2006 15-18-0 2005 6-19 2004 7-20 Previous coach's last year(2003) was 27-6. If it took 6 years to return a program back to where it was in Conferance USA---how long would that equate to in the Pac-10? It's comparing apples and oranges here with a Conference USA school that he had to build from scratch and a top Pac-10 school that has most of its pieces in place. "build from scratch"? Previous coach was 27-6 in his last year.... |

If "grunt work" is a problem for Kiraly, then how is he working as a national team assistant? That job involves plenty of grunt work.

One of the main issues the new coach for UCLA will have to do is get the Academic Ad-visors that handle the girl's volleyball team on the same page with volleyball program. Another issue is how to make the Rec Hall an attractive place to play/watch volleyball for the next 2 years while Pauley Pavilion is being renovated.

I concur with your first 3 statements - Have no opinion on his leadership ability because I don't know the man. You say Karch has never coached women before - has he ever coached either sex before? Does he have a degree? It really annoys me when colleges hire people who don't have a degree. I believe he does have a degree. I read somewhere that he graduated with a degree in biochemistry. |

I've come to the conclusion one man and one man only is right for this job. JACK BAUERI'm still amazed that Jack Bauer was able to get to the UC Santa Barbara campus from downtown Los Angeles within 15 minutes -- by CAR! It was in Season 3, I think. |
