30-21, 30-25, 30-27
I've seen UCI play several times this season and tonight they were very inconsistent and made lots of errors.

WEBBER LEADS UC IRVINE PAST LOYOLA-CHICAGO; TEAM WINS 10TH STRAIGHT TO TIE LONGEST WINNING STREAK
Irvine, Calif. -- Matt Webber recorded 23 kills to lead second-ranked UC Irvine to a 3-0 (30-21, 30-26, 30-28) victory over No. 10 Loyola-Chicago in a non-conference match Monday at Crawford Court.
With the win, UCI extends its winning streak to 10, which ties the school record set in 2003. The Anteaters improve to 16-3 overall, while the Ramblers lose just their second match of the year to go to 15-2.
Webber hit .636, totaling 23 kills on 33 attempts and committing only two errors on the night. Middle blocker Aaron Harrell recorded the second-best hitting percentage in a UCI match with a .917 mark in an almost perfect night (11-0-12). Middle blocker David Smith hit .733 (12-1-15), which is 12th best in the UCI match record books. Setter Brian Thornton had 50 assists and guided the Anteaters to a .431 hitting performance.
Loyola-Chicago was led by Chris Kozlarek with nine kills followed by Nathan Gustus and Corey Kloos with eight kills apiece.
UCI opened game one on a 17-8 run and never looked back going on to a 30-21 victory.
The Ramblers jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in game two, but UCI rallied to tie the score at 5-5. UCI built a 20-14 lead before Loyola went on a 6-1 spurt to close with 21-20 on a kill by Kozlarek. David Smith put away a kill for UCI to maintain a two point cushion and the Rambers could get no closer the rest of the way.
In a close game three, the Anteaters held a 20-18 advantage before Webber pounded three kills and the Ramblers had two attacking errors to help UCI extend the lead to 25-19. Loyola then went on a 9-4 run to narrow the Anteater lead to 29-28, but Aaron Harrell ended the match with a kill in middle.
UCI will meet No. 8 Penn State, who also has a 10-match winning streak on the line tomorrow (Mar. 7) at 7:00 p.m. at Crawford Court.

OH NOOOOOOOOOO! THE "BEST OFFENSE IN THE COUNTRY" ONLY HIT .257% WHAT A SHOCKER! Oh wait!! They weren't playing Clarke College or Central State. Maybe that had something to do with it! You think?

You think you're a funny guy. Hey, read between the lines. Clearly, Loyola does not have the best offense in the country, the midwest maybe so. And I've seen most their home games this year. At one point, they were "statistically" the best "hitting" team in the country. And what does Central St. have to do with anything? I've seen UCI play several times this season and tonight they were very inconsistent and made lots of errors. For a Loyola team that's not a great blocking team (only 4th in the MIVA-SD overall and in conference) I believe that this was the best blocking performance of the season for them. 14 team blocks for Loyola vs 7.5 for UCI. UCI maust really have been off, but they still cruised to the win.
