Waves look to keep pace in tight MPSF race.
Waves Face UCLA, UCI in MPFS Tilts
Pepperdine will close out a three-match homestand on Thursday night against UCLA before hitting the road to take on top-ranked UC Irvine Saturday night. UCLA is currently tied for ninth in the conference, while Irvine sits atop the standings and is 6-0 at home.
About the Waves
Pepperdine is under the direction of Marv Dunphy who is in his 23rd season as head coach of the Waves. Pepperdine sits at 12-4 on the season. Senior middle blocker Andy Hein leads the team in hitting at a .525 clip, while John Parfitt leads a balanced Wave attack which features three players who average better than three kills per game at 3.97. Jonathan Winder averages 13.00 assists per game as the team is hitting .322 on the year. As a team the Waves are blocking 3.65 per game led by Tom Hulse's 1.55 and Hein's 1.48.

Freshman Paul Carroll recorded a team-high 16 kills, while John Parfitt added 15 in the victory. As a team, Pepperdine hit .345 with 10 blocks and 44 digs.

Pepperdine has posted a 84-18 conference record since the MPSF went to a round-robin format in 2002 -- the top mark during its time period. All time, the Waves are 386-185.
