If UCI can continue to bring 2000 + people in to see matches ,when do they start playing at the Bren center full yime A lot of local kids were at the match ( club players ) only 800 at Crawford and 2000 at the Bren .

If their numbers stay steady, you would think they would continue to schedule matches in the Bren! Especially as good as they are this year, and as good as they seem they are going to be in the future.
I would much rather drive to UCI then fight the traffic to LA.

Only problem with the Bren is Irvine's record in that facility.

REMEMBER THE SONG " SUPERSTITION " GET OVER IT . IF THEY CAN FILL THE SEATS , MAYBE A VOLLEYBALL TEAM THAT CAN SELF SUSTAIN , AND IF CAN WORK IN IRVINE , IT SHOULD BE ABLE TO WORK JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE .

Well, the facility does make a difference. Smaller venues can be more hostile and provide a stronger home court advantage. It would be nice to see them play in a larger venue, but a lot of teams like the smaller courts. Also, it still remains to be seen if they can do this on a regular basis. This is a great year for them, but can they turn out the numbers when they are not contending for the title. It will still take a few more years to make a good decision on this.

Players get used to the larger venues if they're allowed to play in them. If they stay to the small gyms it only makes it tougher to play when you go into a large arena. Eventually, if you're any good, you'll end up playing in the playoffs in larger arenas and you may not be able to do your best since it can be intimidating unless you've been prepared. One can only wonder how many fans don't come to see them because they fear they will drive all the way there and not get in, as it happened to me once. I think twice about going there when a match is in Crawford. the same thing happens at BYU's fieldhouse. Fans jam in there. Anyone who has to come some distance and risk not getting in will just stay home. That's not only lost revenue, but lost opportunity to enlarge your fan base. And the dinky gyms only propogate the small sport attitude. SC and UCI hurt themselves when they go to the larger arenas to play. They may have a home court advantage, but in the bigger picture it's a disadvantage. I say man up and play big, especially when you have a chance of creating new fans.

Irvine on a good day is at least an hour drive from LA. Crawford Hall is a definite home court advantage. But the Bren Center is one of the nicest gyms in SoCal. Why make the drive if you atre going to get shut-out. When USC plays UCLA, Hawaii`, Stanford in the North Gym....if you are not there an hour before match time you will get shut out unless you are a student.
