Wow, this is definitely a surprise. LBSU is usually peaking at this point in the season, or starting to peak. This doesn't bode well for them though it was a road game. Seems like it is a 2 man team though and the balance isn't there. Congrats to UCLA for holding serve at home.

uclabruins.cstv.com/sports/m-volley/recaps/040106aaa.htmlThis was a case of the Bruins playing their very best "team" match of the year. The guys broke out their A game. Maybe the week off helped. Certainly, playing 7 matches in 12 days prior to last week helped them get cohesive and on track. The middle game was a big advantage for UCLA tonight. Scheftic and Russell had their way since Budinger was on the outside. Scheftic and setter Wade in particular did their immitation of Paul Johnson and Dennis Gonzales that was such a trademark for UCLA last year. The Bruins' serving was the best of the year, keeping the 49ers on their toes and trying to get passes to Hildebrand, but it was a tough night for that. With that said, it's still remarkable that Budinger came away with 20 kills and Tar got his share too. The 49ers really helped the Bruins with timely service errors just when they needed one. This is one for the 49ers to simply put behind them and move on. They are a better team than they showed tonight. On the other hand, it seemed the Bruins are showing what we all knew they could do all year if they could just fire on all cylinders in the same match.

If UCLA was able to sweep the Beach then I think it's safe to say that UCI will have their way tomorrow night at home.
C'mon 49ers, wake up!!!

I posted that UCLA would make playoffs... When many other people doubted.
They still can lose enough games to be out of playoffs, but with the teams they have remaining, it is unlikely.
Look out MPSF teams in playoffs...
